Yay! I'm the 100th reply! I got an email today saying that my welcome email would come some time between mid august and the end of September... :/
Considering I got in directly in the middle of the magic quill contest I suspect to be let in in early September.

I feel slightly put off by the whole thing lol. All that getting up early and stuff and it might not even be more than a week or two of early access. Seems silly. Bragging rights I guess.
My husband was reading another reason for the usernames you cant pick yourself... everything you get ebook wise will have watermarks with your user name. so if you get caught selling it you're screwed.

I'm just getting so irritated with Pottermore. I constantly check my email and nothing. They said they were sending them out for one more week before stopping for a little while. If I don't get mine in the next week I'm going to :cry (not really, but I'll be infuriated)

I got in yesterday. Site looks great but I don't enjoy it very much, you never know when you are finished on a page. It just let you search and search even if there's nothing to find. But considering what it's like, I do like the extra story behind it all. But shaping the experience is only by leaving a comment on every page. So you can only suggest things instead of creating.
Thanks for the update. I tried to get the early access but it was always closed when I tried. I will just have to wait until October. After reading your update, waiting won't be very hard for me.
I don't really care about the extras. I am ready to re-read the series on my Kindle.

I know a couple of people who are in, and they have declared it to be rather boring after the initial excitement of seeing it all. And some "Dueling Wizards" something that hasn't worked in over a week.
I think the fans are going to enjoy the new content by JKR and getting the electronic books, but I think the site itself is going to fall way short of what fans expected and even shorter of what they want/ed--to "attend" an interactive virtual Hogwarts.
