Possible Ebay Scam - GF TK armor

hey folks,

(Posting this here because I can't access the off-topic forum)

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&item=190253982955

This auction is using pictures of my GF suit from years ago. They link to their own website which contains virtually every picture I took of the suit for my auction in 2004.

Their details are more or less correct, that it's a GF modded by TE, but I said as much in the auction and provided a picture of their signatures.

I've spoken to the guy and he claims it's the same suit I sold years ago, having gone through a couple owners. I asked him to confirm the original sale price to the first owner, and he was off by about half.

I'm stopping short of calling him a liar and asked him to note in the auction that these pics are 4 years old.

Frankly, any auction that reads more or less, "we don't know anything about this suit, so don't ask" is suspicious anyway, but I wanted to let everyone know.

Thanks,

Phil

What interested me about that auction is that it gives
Notting Hill Gate, London as the location. I live about
5 minutes from there and in one of the local shop windows
there is frequently a card advertising TK armour for
sale.

This guy used to sell loads of bootleg star wars dvds on ebay for extortionate prices and was banned several times with different ebay accounts

Geez! I was just looking at that. Thanks for the heads up!

I probably wouldn't have bid anyway due to the lack of info. Most people with good armour can't stop talking about it.

I might bid, but I wonder if it will fit :unsure?

lol, dare you to ask :)

I spoke with him and he claims it's my suit, passed down through a couple owners. I asked him to clarify the month/year of my original sale and the sale price, he was off on both counts, off by half with the amount.

I asked him to at least note that these pics are from 2004 and from a previous owner, haven't seen that update yet. Said he would.

I reported him to eBay and included the file directory on my site from which all of his pictures on his site came from. They wrote back that because they can find my pics on another site (HIS!) they are considered public and they cannot do anything.

Whatever,

I should take a couple pictures in front of the same door and walls with me flipping the bird and send them to eBay...

Phil
