Howdy all, haven't been on here for a while since we published our Dredd 2012 models and code for everyone to make ( Dredd 2012 Electronics 3D Model and Build ). It's the same crew on this new project with Paul doing the electronics, Craig with the code, and me doing the designs and mechanisms. We have a new addition in Toy Traders Mike on paint, who does all the incredible builds and displays for the store of the same name, which is the world's best toy store, just google Kevin Smith's walkthrough of the store if you wanna have your mind blown..
We sorta went down a rabbit hole after on what would be the coolest thing we could do with electronic prop design and came up with Blamcon, which is a firmware/hardware/software solution to make pretty much anything a into an arcade light gun. As before, all the models, code, and firmware are completely free to the community. Been a little hesitant to post it here but I think it's an RPF worthy project. Here is the Dredd Lawgiver with it's light gun mod, it's just 3 parts from a light gun to an interactive prop, completely non-destructive:
I also dusted off my 90's announcer voice and did a commercial for it:
Here's some of the prop guns I've done so far on my display wall, some are classics, some are my original designs:
I'm still not sure this is RPF worthy content so if it's not let me know, if it is I'll keep posting about it. I just finished Peter Mayhew's Bowcaster and Hicks' Ithica 37 shotgun from Aliens (draft version on the wall at the bottom right), it has a light gun mod and an on canon version.
I will be posting the 3D print models for free for both the light gun versions and 3D print display or electronic versions along with tutorials on how to build and paint. You can see tutorials in the channel above with the commercial, I just released the Auto 9 light gun and I'm working on a cosplay version with working sounds and recoil, there's vids of that too.
I also take requests
