PIH Selling Another "Original" Luke ANH Hilt

Hopefully this will be the last attempt by Roger to try and scam the general public out of their money

I doubt it.. he found his little loop hole to make money and I can guarantee he does this again next year.. hence way he said he has 5 or so...

If someone started a Facebook campaign to expose this dude then maybe he would think twice about doing this again..

..This may be a great excuse for Halliwax to finally sign up with Facebook...

no one knows Replica Props better that the Replica Prop Forum...... great work guys!!!!! last thing we need is another AA peddling some questionable stuff

Crazy part is... I'm sure he could have been quite comfortable making replica sabers, and selling them as replicas that were made by the original maker! Sure, not as lucrative as $250k+, but personally, I would have paid a premium to have a lightsaber assembled by Roger, even with some replica parts. Now though, that door is kinda slammed shut.

I just watched Jason De Bord's videos. I'm not generally a fan of videos, as I prefer to read articles, but he did a really great job of presenting the information! I also imagine it's a lot faster then writing, so he was able to get the videos out faster. He did a good job of distilling a lot of the conversations down. One thing I noticed while he was talking about the clamp rivet is that the ends of the bubble strip are also cut differently on each saber. Also, with a VERY generous reading of the LOA, one could interpret Roger referencing the "saber pictured below" as the older cropped "toe" photograph, and not the replica. Which, if that was the intent, is sketchy as all get out.

EXACTLY!! why not grab flashes and assemble them himself! You know I would have seriously wanted one of them knowing it was made by the father of the lightsaber

Now I have zero respect for this man, total scumbag move

This is up on the BBC news website. Its quite an achievement. Well done chaps.

MHs response made me laugh.

Did anyone see the photo Mark posted earlier this week ? It’s not a re-tweet, he posted the photo (in response to a tweet he commented on) Twitter

Did he take that photo himself? Like, in his house? That doesn’t look like a replica Graflex.

I’d like to know what’s going on with that clamp box. Lever on wrong side and some kind of screw head on it..

Hamill gets TONs of gifts at every con. This could have been a fan made gift

Hamill confirming the rumour that TIm Burton is the new set decorator for episode IX

Meh let him, and he will be exposed for the fraud he is again.:p

Looks like we have a new AA

Do you guys remember when he did a reddit AMA and spoke about the saber? We had a thread here with some pretty obscure theories on where parts came from etc, like the t-tracks being draught excluders from a car etc, and moments after members posted ideas, he would reply to questions on his AMA with information suspiciously close to the theories in our concurrent thread from here. Always seemed not quite on the level after that.

Oh I distinctly remember that day..

Thing is back then I thought he just had a weak memory.. now I think he just makes stuff up on the spot.. the radio interview kinda proves that to me..

Chronic lair... my cousin is the same way, story after story lie after lie, it all catches up in the end

I’m glad profiles pulled it, but this isn’t going to spot roger. He’ll try and figure some other way to unload this thing

Stuff like this really upsets me because I’m a honest person in real life. I hate people who take advantage of others..

Glad profiles listened because even they took a loss because I can only imagine the commission they would make on the sale

The power of therpf at its finest, good job to everyone who emailed and voiced their concern

Yeah. My personal theory is that Roger simply doesn't remember anything about how he built these things and everything he says is BS. But that's just my theory.

My perhaps naive head wants still believe there is good in him...

It probably all stated with no real malicious intent but without knowing the sheer magnitude of the knowledge base here on the RPF, he got deeper and deeper into something that was obviously incorrect or just wrong, but something he lost control of and perhaps even started to believe himself.

Falsehoods, whether intended or not, do have a habit of gaining an uncontrollable momentum.

My local newspaper, the Sydney Morning Herald, reports that PIH has withdrawn this..... someone here is the little birdie that whispered in their ears?
