Looking at these pictures and tinking back to the lindberg kit, they actually did a really good job with the exception of the front under the windows. I can understand why they didn't do the viney looking things under the mohawk.

Xeno, those picts are from Star Ship modeler's site. Those were shot by me of an ICONS copy.
There were some shots of the mother ship as well.

I hope you don't mind me posting these ?
if not let me now :)

I was already thinking it was the Icons version, but the paint job looks really nice, although it's not the original and captured version.

.

these pics are as they are no supersize sorry :rolleyes

.

Oh now come on, I love the supersize. You can never have enough fries. :cry ;)

:lol Thanks anyway Xeno.

Thanks for the link Mark. There are some more great pics posted there. :thumbsup

Does anyone know how they made the Fine Texturing on the original model? It looks similar to wall Texturing using a sponge. :p

No problem with the posting of the images but maybe you could of linked to the site that hosts them.

Yes, that is a ICONS so I'm not sure if the paint job is correct. They were both neat pieces to photograph and play with.

If Timeslip creations kits are off a pull those two came from then his kits should be real clean.

I have no idea how they did the texturing but it sure turned out nice.

as far as I know the pattern was made with metal foil crunched and glued on.
I mad a mold of the Icons version, and it was clearly visible at the edges

That is very interesting. I will have to try it. :cool

The pattern is definitely random. Using crunched foil would give that appearance.

Thanks Xeno! :D

How would you pull that look off while keeping the rest of the detail crisp?

Is there any other known kits of this other than the lindberg "captured" ship?

IIRC, We had an original filming attack ship that fox lent to us to make the licenced replicas. After we molded it up, a guy named Dragon painted the replica. When he was finished you could not tell the original to the replica. It was molded with black resin with a silver undertone. Flat dark grays, and patina greens.

So you sent back the replica to FOX :lol
