Pepakura replica helmet models

im not saying "dont use it ever" because ive always had good luck with it with my projects, i just dont put it anywhere i plan on sanding.

but if you have no other choice but to do that, then you can do your best to trim it with a very sharp blade and then sand by hand.

I recall seeing something about a product called Styrospray, which was basically plastic in a spraycan. Has anyone used that over their pep build?

Thanks for the response, to everyone else as well. Im off to the store to get what I need to try these ideas out. Have nothing to loose at this point right. I will let you all know how the spray works out.

Give it several coats of acrylic sealer (the rattlecan kind) Spray lightly, let dry, then repeat until the paper seems sturdy enough not to warp from the resin. I don't know if it will work with such a large piece, but if all you have done is the chest, you still have a lot of cutting to do anyway. If you haven't assembled it, you might laminate the pages and then assemble it. I don't know what the resin will do to the plastic, but I'm just thinking out loud here.

Good luck with it.

I haven't done much pep work lately except for the whiplash armor, but I'll work on it when I can. I'm trying to get whiplash done before people get bored with Iron Man stuff

Any teaser pic??? :D

Any teaser pic??? :D
Teaser...hmm...no, not yet. (how's that for a tease?)

I had insomnia last night and slapped this Clone Cadet helmet together. I need to put some more detail into it though. There aren't many pics online, so I'm watching it over and over and making mental notes :wacko The paint job on these things is pretty simple, but it truly makes the helmet look more like a piece of armor and less like a kid's toy.

Update: Clone Cadet

Modeling and unfolding is finished.
Download it here. The model is in Letter format.

WOW!! That was quick, I only saw the Episode last night when they repeated on CN. I thought I saw some sketches in a book that make that design look like something they might have been considering for the Rebel Fleet Trooper in ANH.

Hey DungObettle:
1st. Great files. I was able to download the ironman helmet and I'm just loving this stuff.
2nd. is it all possible you could send me the file for the Ironman Suitcase?
My girlfriend wants to be Pepper and I would love her to carry the suitcase around.
Once again, amazing files

well that sux :) just managed to get a copy of windows for my mac and been looking forward to getting your iron man helm PDO, wish there weren't so many a55hats around who knowingly take other peoples' work and sell it as their own. nuts!

Nice, keep up the good work, I am loving this stuff. Acctually I feel a little left out of the loop...
Question: Pepakura is still a relatively new medium for costumes isn't it?
It was only last years Dragon Conn pics I seen my first hardcore Ironman costume.
Now it seems as if a few people have the ,been there-done that, attitude towards it. I am continually amazed by all the work you put into all this. I really hope I am not jumped on this train right before the last stop.

I quit making costumes 11 years ago."Renn Fest and Midevil wear" and I wish I hadn't.
