Pee-Wee's Big Adventure Bike

I'm surprised it lasted that long, I can't believe 7 people looked at it before it sold, and I like how the seller dumbed it down, saying "I know there is a niche market for this", if he was in with the insurance company that paid a claim of $14,000.00, why would he sell it for $1,600.00?

Ahh, it being on auction for 12 minutes makes a ton of sense then. I get notifications every day, but it sold too fast to have even registered. Buy It Now at that price would have been a no-brainer.

I installed the fork onto the frame today, the paint looks phenomenal!

Thanks Rudd. I was unable to order pinstripes through amazon as they were an addon item and it refused to let me buy it alone. I went to ebay, and I grabbed them there!

I went out to the vintage bike shop today. I got the following:

-Proper ducktail fenders. Not DX, but they are very close:

The guy was also super cool and gave me the gooseneck stem from an old stingray! I also got the screw for my shifter too!

So I was doing a bit of lurking around my backyard (It's a mess) and through all the junk I realized a had a vintage Motobecane with what appeared to be a greenfield kickstand. Unfortunately I have no idea whether it is a greenfield or not. All I know is that it's 255 mm and is made in germany:

Just use it looks very similar, just make sure its long enough, which should to hold your bike at the correct angle. You may just need a washer or a small piceofmetal to act as a washer on the frame. Free is the best.

Thanks Abe. Yeah mine doesn't have a mounting plate, so I will be using a washer like you said. :D

It's 255 mm so it should do it!

You should just buy a new one that's nice and chrome-y. I just saw a nice new one on ebay for around 10 bucks with free shipping.

lol I actually had ordered one, but I was looking in my backyard and came across this kickstand. Plus, I've already removed most of the rust and it looks fine! :lol

Looks great. I kinda wish mine had that kickstand just because it was in the movie more than the built in.

You are making great progress sir! Keep it up.

Thanks guys! I know it's not a greenfield, but it sure is close! Anyways I painted the front bars of my springer, it's not accurate, but I don't mind as I can locate chrome paint later, this is more of a temporary thing.

Once my pinstripes arrive, I can do my clear-coat! I decided to do the same as Ryan with 1/8th.
