Pee-Wee's Big Adventure Bike

Getting ready to do the next coat of paint on my frame. Running low on it so I'll more than likely have to go out to get more for the fender and fork. Happy to say mine's coming along a a very quick rate!

Andy, your bike is looking tre sexy my friend. Glad to see things coming along so far now (& that it wasn't you selling your bike on Craigslist a while back) ;P

Dalek, always feels good to get a coat of paint on, doesn't it? Makes it feel real.

Indeed it does skill. Not too bad of a smell once you get used to it. I have the frame out in the sun as the paint is still a bit damp. Once it's ready, sand, paint, pinstripes, then clear coat. Also I woke up this morning to find a ray of sunlight shining through the window onto my frame! :lol

Hey Dalek,
anywhere that would have an english wheel, like an old school bicycle or motorcycle shop or a hot rod or custom car shop, I don't know if there is anything like that where you live, a good body man could probably hammer it out with a body hammer and dolly, but an english wheel would be ideal, there is a guy on Ebay that sells old bike parts that offers to roll your fenders for about $60.00, I'll see if I can look him up.

Dalek, not sure if this will do the trick or not, but Harbor Freight has a "body & fender kit" for only $28 at the moment.
http://www.harborfreight.com/7-piece-body-and-fender-set-31277.html

Maybe someone can chime in on if this will work. They used to sell a proper fender roller for only $80, plus they always have sales that would knock the price down. I saw it for as low as $55, but it looks like it was discontinued at some point.

I have that kit. It works for small dings, but yOu will be hard pressed to get a fully smoothed fender. It would be way better to just have some roll the fenders. But if your paying to have them rolled, i would have the correct fenders rolled. Which i did just that got some correct fenders rolled.

Bit off-topic, but I thought I'd post this since I'm at home sick. New album by Canadian rapper Buck 65 came out today, & he gave a shout out to the X1!

from "Je T'aime Mon Amour":

"If I had Apollo's lie or Beethoven's pain, I'd show you how I feel in all the ways I can't explain.
Sailor Ripley's jacket, Tony Manero's necklaces, Billy Brown's boots or Kid Caruthers' recklessness.
Betty Page's slavery or Vince Scully's mic, Fred Astaire's dancin' shoes, Pee Wee Herman's bike.
The head of Winged Victory, Siddhartha's Agenda, The Evel of Knievel, the nerves of Avelenda.
If I was a wrecking ball, if I was a genius, I would find a way to smash the walls that stand between us."

Cool lyrics. Shame I don't listen to rap that much anymore. Anyways I just got done painting the front fender. Pictures will posted tomorrow!

You're aren't just whistling Dixie!, whoever got that bike at that price probably died of a coronary, I would have bought it for that, just to be able to mould the saddlebags off of it, let alone being able to say you own a real prop bike.

It's actually interesting. The bags on this version do not open. Shame to see it in that condition though. Hopefully they'll restore it or preserve it to keep it intact!

Most of the bikes have non functional bags. I saw that auction just minutes after it ended, I've been depressed ever since.
