I recently got started a Starkiller V1 Hero ROTJ build.
One of the things I wanted to try to do was make the brass control box rails match the color of the copper trace lines on the control card—without having to paint the brass rails copper.
My solution was to add a patina to both the brass rails and the control card until the metals arrived at a point where they matched.
I used the usual ammonia vapor solution for the brass rails and the control card; however, their speed of developing a patina was radically different.
First, I vaporized the brass rails for about 2 hours, until it arrived at the color I was shooting for.
I then vaporized the control card for about 4.5 hours, until it reached a patina that matched the brass rails.
This is what I started with (including a BRRogers Hero Card)…
