Paladin's greatsword build thread

Alright I plan on cosplaying my Paladin from Dungeons and Dragons for AX 12, so this is the build thread for his greatsword, it's not the same as if you were to look in the player's hand guide but more customized.

Here's a simple AUTOCAD design of my sword, the left one is the one I'm going off of.

And then next is the cutting template for it, I haven't added the guard yet,
It is barely under 4ft long, the broom is for comparison

The handle will be a dowel, and the rest of the sword will be made from styrofoam, which will then be covered in fiberglass and resin to make it super strong and durable.

alright finally got around to actually starting it, decided to scrap the styrofoam idea to not have to deal with all the resin and stuff and to make it much cheaper, after im done im gonna make a back scabbard for it out of 6mm sintra.

Have you thought about doing the sword out of aluminum? Make it look super real yet super light. It's not has hard as you might think.

thanks for the idea, but the problem is that i dont have that kind of skill, also Anime expo has seriously strict rules regarding weapon props, such as no metal except for on the handle, also im a student with a part time job and about 14 days till the con and i have to drop some cash for leather and some more sintra for my plate armor.
