I'm making the MK.II from Metal Gear Solid 4. The only problem I have is printing the VERY small text thats around the robot. Would screen printing work? :confused Anyone have any ideas? Please help. THANK YOU!
I'm sure you could with the appropriate printer. They sell sheets of dry rub transfers in some stationary shops. Hobbylink japan does a lot for Gundam kits. I'm sure with the amount of expertise here someone can point you in the direction of a custom printer.
you could also try clear slide paper . I've done McFarland figures before where I ran the type through Illustrator and printed in on my printer very easily.
Dry transfers come in all font sizes and colors as well several different fonts. Much easier than trying to make decals. I get mine from Towerhobbies.com.
Here's a really quick example:
The models is 1/72 and the dry transfer lettering, IIRC, was about 1/8" - and they weren't even the smallest letters on the sheet. Dry transfers were absolutely necessary, as no decal maker sells a sheet for "The Navy", :lol
Is there any place where I can send them custom text. Or, is there a product where I could do it at home on my ink jet printer??? This is what I want it to look like.
On the far right end, there's a table with information in it. I want to be able to print that on mine. Plus, the small text thats all over his body. For the font size, I think 1/16" would work good enough. Would Staples or Office Max have something that would work?
My god. I have been wanting an MK. II prop since the first game trailer for 4. When you finish this prop ppppppllllleeeeeaaaaaseeee send pics! Or do you already have some if you're in the decal stage?
I'd love to see pics. Funny thing is that he (it) appeared back in the 80s/90s in Snatcher and was named Metal gear mk II since it was made by the creator of Metal Gear.

Yeah but it's costly there are only a few companies that will entertain a small run and you will pay for it, there is also a company that sells a DIY dry transfer kit but it's about $200 to get rolling...
Just Google up 'custom dry transfer decals' and start browsing...
You might try getting some custom water slide decals made. There are people who can print them in white. Try the general modelling forum and ask if anyone here does them.
I know I've seen all kinds of people using custom decals on various models so, they can't be super expensive. I never really got into modelling as much as I may have liked so, I can't really be a help beyond the suggestion.
I have a decal paper I use in my ceramics for decals that you can print use with your ink jet printer. I think this would do what you want. The web site for it is BelDecal.com scroll down on the menu on the left to find a listing for inkjet decal paper. They also have one for models. You get 10 sheets for around $11.00. Hope this helps.
