I was wondering if a mini sandblaster like the paasche (basicly an airbrush size sandblaster) is usefull for cleaning/smoothing brass parts like recesses and stuff.

also, how long will one jar of the stuff last?

Cheers,

Frankly, you're really better off with some Brasso and a tooth brush. A sandblaster is only going to slowly erode your piece everytime you blast it clean. I see sandblasters as a one off tool. Use it to etch glass or remove a thick layer of old paint and grime, and other similar applications.

That being said, I haven't tried the kit you speak of, but I have seen it in the craft store and plan on buying one at some point to do some etching.

Well. usually i use a sanding disc, a buffer wheel with polishing compounds and brasso to clean and polish the surface of brass objects. I was just wondering if with a mini sandblaster you can smooth out the recesses in brass objects (they tend to be a bit gritty when they come back from the foundry) which can't be reached with sanding paper.
