...from Elstree Studios, supposedly used in scenes filmed in Tunisia. Wow...pretty big $ too....$40K.
OK, blaster experts, does it look like the real deal? Can't post a link but do a search for "Stormtrooper blaster"....you'll find it.

Just another ANH E-11 that was purchased from Bapty a couple years ago.
I believe a few members here own them as well.
All the add on parts are not original.

Elstree just bought it and marked it up.

"Bapty's then added the specially made cut down magazine (originals always have the four spot welds!), the top sight and rail, and the Hengstler 890 counter, plus the rubber strips outside the barrel."

"So we have replaced the Hengstler counter and added the correct rubber strips, everything else is original!"

:rolleyes

Do you experts think cylinders on magwell are real?

Be good to have pictures.

Scope looks like an A2 version.

I was just referring to the statements they made about the original guns using rubber t-track, when in fact they didn't.

So they are wrong not only about the original props, but also in the replica stuff they are calling "correct".

I don't know anything else about the rest of the gun. Other people here are much more knowledgeable than me on that subject.

One thing that is a little odd is that this gun still has it's barrel in place. John's (WTAC) original blaster did not.

That scope is wrong.

Just sayin'.

The only thing original is the gun.
Scope, scope rail, cylinders, Hengstler, t-track is all new.
I helped in an advisory capacity when these were being restored.

Dan - All the E-11's I've seen from this batch from Bapty had 'barrels' in place. IIRC they were wooden dowels.

Not too impressed with the Tusken bandoleer they're selling, either... I see those exact bandoliers on ebay all the time for a BIN price of $29, and if it was used by Tusken Raiders, it is by one not seen on screen. I can't find that type of bandolier used in any of my reference photos.

It says that the bandoliers were used in ep iv but those are sweedish bandoliers. They were only used in epi 1. Epi iv used lee enfeild and martini henry bandoliers. RIP OFF!!:thumbsdown

More crap from our friends at Elstree Props who by the way have no present affiliation with Elstree Studios.

You'd think by now, especially after the Terminator skull incident, that scammers would at least do a google search, find the RPF, then realise that fakes are going to get found out.

Well, in fairness to Elstree Studios, Props...whatever...as per Chris' (Lone Pigeon) observation, the gun itself is not a fake. Just all the add-ons are recent and not original.

Still, I think that they're dreaming in Technicolour asking $40K for it!

One question for Chris though...do you think that it's a film used original as claimed?

Yes I do.
It's not like Elstree had anything to do with it though. They bought it from Bapty and now they're reselling it.

Most of the ANH gun props were stripped down after filming so just about all examples are usually rebuilt to some degree.
This is one auction from Elstree I really have no problem with. The description is clear and correct. It's just the price is high.

PS - What happened to the auction? It's gone.
