Original 1977 ANH Stormtrooper Armor and Helmet

Moulded from the inside, that is great.
I sure hope your original suit came out of this unharmed, mate.

Thanks for doing this right, by the way. And thanks for doing this all in the first place!

Can't wait for pics of your first test pulls, helmet AND armour parts.

I too can't wait to see how all this pans out. I'm guessing helmets will be about a grand apiece. That's a fair price right? I'm kidding of course, but who's to say what a fair price is? It is all relative.

Who is budspencer?

C'mon Jerry a fair price would be $25 dollars... :lol

Seriously hoping they will be remotely easy on us with the pricing. :confused But I know it cost a LOT to get to this point. And certainly it IS fair that they recoup those expenses.

Really AWESOME news about the inside casting and preservation of the original!

Eagerly anticipating pics of the first raw pulls!!!!!!! :love

Great news to hear it is being cast from the inside.

Just as long as no one was harmed in the process.

Well I'd just finished posting the RPF-equivalent of 'War & Peace', and was checking my post for speeling mistaks, when my ******'ing computer decided that now was a good time to shut-down, and download 'an update' from Microsoft! :angry
Anymore of this BS and I'm trading this POS in for an Apple....

Anyways I was writing how this is a lifelong-fulfillment (or at least since I was 8 years old and saw SW for the first time) to have a 99% accurate replica of my favourite characters' helmets and armour! :love

I reckon if Star Wars hadn't featured Imperial Stormtroopers in it, then I wouldn't be anywhere near as obsessed as I am with SW... <shrugs> - it would have been 'just another sci-fi movie' :unsure
In fact the brighter folk amongst you, might already have guessed this by my choice of Screen-Name! LOL

So whilst I realise this isn't an Interest Thread, please put me down for at least one full set of armour and Stunt helmet. I may, seriously, be in the market for multiple sets... embarrassing I know that I never quite out-grew my hobby of collecting Star Wars figures - they just happen to be 1:1 scale now :$

Oh, and that's amazing news that you were able to create the moulds from the inside of the helmet and armour, but I know I'm not alone here when I say I'd accept a moulding from the *outside* if moulding from the inside caused any damage to the original costume :thumbsdown

Keep up the good work SiMan - can't wait to see some pics of the newly-formed armour 'n' helmet!

Cheers,
John

Just stumbled on this thread! Great news!
I already have 5 trooper buckets, one more won't hurt right? :confused

Can't wait to see some pics of the finished product!
My preference is for an untrimmed kit but thanks SiMan for making this available to us!!

Fantastic news Simon, whit the inside molds.
I can´t wait to get two kits asap, and do a Stormtrooper & Sandtrooper:thumbsup

So you folks are all stoked to buy something you haven't seen in person or in pics yet?

No wonder Icons took so many people's money.

Show me some pics, then I'll sing some praises.

Apparently all the excitement on AA's first announcements has been forgotten already.

And in comes mic with a reality check... a splash of cold water... with his ever negative air around him, filling the thread with a fun-sucking, excitement-killing pep-talk to people who dare dream.

Fantastic.

Sure, people get over-excited... guess you would too if it was something you really wanted.

Realistic is not negative, just realistic.

Hell this thread even started with a pile of mis-information.

I want to see something substantial before I get excited.

Sorry that I learn from others mistakes.

Unknown guy, mis-information and stormtrooper.

Yep, that's a recipe for trouble right there.

I know. And sorry for being snarky. You are right. It's prudent to be careful. I just think people get over-excited about the possibility, rather than relaxing and seeing the work the guys are able to produce first.

Hope there's no hard feelings.

I agree with both of you.

I am not committing a dime untill I see something. There may be a week link beween the original to molding to mold shaping to vacform to finished product BUT... and it is a large but...

The fact remains as long as the person casting it knows what they are doing... and the vac former knows what he is doing...

This will HAVE to be the best ANH armor yet just because of it's origins alone.

And we have NO idea who that is, who is doing it.

For heavens sake this could be one of our sockpuppets messing with us.

Is there ANYONE here that can CONFIRM who this is, who is doing it and that they do have ANY experience doing it.

Maybe I'm just not blinded by the Stormtropper "thing", that seems to grip people.

Someone highly respected and supposedly "in the know" completely mis-identified my 2010 helmet as a "cast during the production" of 2001, not 2010. And there is NO way it was.

Just have a little caution folks.
