Original 1977 ANH Stormtrooper Armor and Helmet

Now that Siman is here in the board and the discussion has turned more to his armor and helmet and away from the silly "news" about the supposed armor sale, I have retitled the thread.

Yep, please don't mess with this and make it a stunt version! You have such a good stunt pull there, a stunt replica is the way to go to blow us all away

Si all anyone would be interested in would be a one on one exact replica of the helmet you have.

Not everyone.

Reproducing every little bump and imperfection is INSANE.

The only reason they are there is cheap ****ty pulls at a cut rate, for a budget film.

Some of the worst VF, I've ever seen.

Snore. Go get a FX if you want sanitation. :angel

Actually get ANY of the exiting helmets if you want a sanitized or cleaned up version... And I'm not knocking any of those offerings just stating they are what they are...

The only thing that has never been offered is an unsanitized ANH helmet, thus the high appeal for leaving it raw...

IMO ideally two versions would appeal to just about everyone across the board

1. Bumps, divots, pimples and all the goodness that comes with a completely unsanitzed version... The purest of pure copies that has never been offered...

2. Ever so slight clean up, obvious small imperfections cleaned up, basically just a once over with a light sanding, but nothing changed or altered beyond basic surface smoothing...

Yes Si , a hero version , although nice to offer folks, is not what the majority of people want. As this is a really nice Stunt then I think this is the way to go, warts and all. It actually looks like a very good pull, no baggy eyes, crisp lines, tear detail etc etc. The best chance we have of getting an accurate ANH Stormtrooper helmet, thanks.

Blasphemy, that's the reason I love Star Wars props and this board. For me it's the imperfections that give these things character. As for the worst VF, give me Star Wars over silly looking CGI effects anyday.

Siman,
thx for sharing! I hope you figure out what your going to do.. I'd like to see more true movie helmet pulls offered.
also your (armor)arms would fill the void for a lot of suits out there.

no more "tour suit" parts.

Well I'm sure we'll do both I just figured the hero helmet would be more popular. Certainly with costumers.

Wow, absoltely amazing Si! But I would respectfully disagree with your logic for doing Stunt *and* Hero varients of the replicas....

You will have a line 'around the block' of diehard anal-retentive Stormtrooper fans, waving bunches of £50 notes at you for an unmolested, untampered, accuarate Stunt background helmet. They don't want the shiny white ABS and bubbled lenses of an idealized Hero Stormtrooper helmet.

But if you want to supply replica helmets to Costumers who perhaps would want an idealized, clean helmet that can stand up to scrutiny when viewed by millimetres away.
IMO these costumers are already spoiled for choice with the large range of licensed Stormtrooper helmets out there... MR, Don Post Deluxe, EFX etc.

But there *is* a real gap in the market for an unmodified casting of an original trooper helmet from '76.
If you're in any doubt then put it to a Poll, and I guarantee that 90% of interested customers will want the unmodified Stunt 'straight copy' :thumbsup
....the other 10% may well be unititiated Newbies who don't know any better ;)

Oh, and please consider me on the list for one of these buckets when they become available... I'd happily live on bread 'n' water to be able to get me mitts on one of these :thumbsup

Oh, and the next obvious question is... when will you be creating moulds from the rest of the suit?????!! :love

Cheers,
John

Hi John,

I couldn't agree with you more.

SiMan I would also think that the costuming community aren't as willing to shell out as many Great British Pounds as collectors are. They want something cheaper they can wear out and about and that they can basically bash about and not really bother about if it gets damaged whilst trooping.

There are lots of other sanitised stormtrooper helmets out there. You have something incredibly unique. Accuracy nuts will shell out - me included.

I personally couldn't care less if the background / stunt replicas are made of HDPE or not I would prefer styrene or ABS and paint it.

I would implore you to make unsanitisied copies and make a huge amount of replica prop collectors finally get their Holy Grail.

Cheers Chris

OMG, i have just had another look at this thread and read that there will be replicas from this original helmet!

This has got to be the best news EVER for any star wars prop replica collector.
At last a ANH trooper helmet replica thats not been messed around with and that is cast from a nice sharp original. I knew this day would come!

I'll take two!

Thanks,

Keith.
