I always enjoyed seeing the model in the Living Seas queue. Funny how it was hidden in plain view like that...so few of us realized we could've looked at it any time we wanted for over 20 years. ;)

In plain view but hardly accessible, unless your an employee or have access when the crowds aren't on cue.
The display out in the open last Sunday was a great opportunity for a full view of the model.
(nice link in above post)

By the way, another bit of Nautilus dive gear can be seen at Disney MGM in the "Disney, A Man and his Dream" exhibit. (real stuff or replica?)

Well, you could stay in the queue as long as you liked, letting people pass you. But true, there is a much better view this time. :)

Looks like it's been cleaned. I'm not sure if the brass is supposed to look so new. I think it had been antiqued originally.

actually Jay, it has been restored to it's original look in 1955 as seen just after the film in the Anahiem 20,000 Leagues sets Exhibit. This is truely what it should look like.
Best,
Will

That's a great set of pics. The last one truly shows Goff's efforts to weave in the crocodile appearance.

So... Was it MADE out of brass, or just finished to look like brass? Sort blows MR's finish out of the water...

If I have my information right the full set of diving gear is a replica built by the late Tom Sherman using the same construction and materials as the originals.

Howdy,
at least some of the dive gear are replicas built by Tom..seeing as how this particluar suit I be;lieve came from the Seas, I would venture to say yes Tom made it......Sure love that Nautilus and how. more pics please....
