The original 11 foot Nautilus used in the filming of Disney's 20,000 Leagues under the Sea, will be on display this Sunday for a public viewing between 11-4 pm. It has been put in the center of the entire special pin event going on there now. If you live in Florida area and can get there, It's a must see. It will be on display at the Mellenium Villiage building at Epcot World Showcase between Canada and Great Britain..I sincerely love this Submarine boat and hope to see tons of pics...
Best,
Will

Hello Will,
Is this the same sub that's been on display in Epcot's Living Seas for several years? If so, is it not expected to return to that display when the new Nemo attraction opens in November?

Has there been any restoration work done on this? I would hope it not get shoved into a box, put into storage and forgotten...

Thanks for the notice,
Marcus

I'm in California so I won't be able to go, but anyone that does I'd love to see Photos. :D :thumbsup

Odd... To the best of my recollectio, it HAS BEEN on public display for some time at Epcot (in the marine life building). At least it was in the late 90's...

Cool info regardless. I love that design too. :cheers to Harper Goff.

It was indeed but roughly a year ago it was taken off display and has not been seen since. Good to hear it's back.. :D

How long is this going to be able to be seen there again? Only a few hours?

I will be stopping briefly in Orlando before Russia and maybe I will get a good look if it is still there and I will take photos. I think I remember it where Charles remembers it being...hmmmmm.

correct,
this is the one that you could see in the Living Seas since 82. As far as I know, it is not going back in with this new Nemo re-theaming. This may be the last chance to see this boat for many years.

And just to be clear, that's Nemo as in the Disney/Pixar movie Findind Nemo not Captain Nemo. :D

darn.....I guess the moderators never saw the double post..sorry bout that...

Yes it was displayed at Epcot Living Seas pavillion since it's opening. They had removed the Nautilus miniature before starting the first phase of rehab to the attraction this past October. This is truely the one and only Nautilus model used in filming, trust me I know...If it has to do with this ship I know.. That said , it wil only be on display for a few hours 11-4pm Sunday(Tomorrow). I still hope to get over there with Rich (Mister Nautilus). but I'm working too soo hope they let me leave early....

Nemo, as in Finding Nemo, not Captain Nemo.

Double darn, I read new Nemo ride :thumbsup then i read Finding Nemo :thumbsdown

(o.t. but i have to say adding Depp into my favorite ride was ok, but 3-4 figures of the same guy was over kill, imo.)

The New Finding Nemo ride is going to be great. Epcot is getting some great stuff.
As for Captian Nemo I think the fans should start asking for a New movie..its time for a remake of this movie.

The Model is great and I hope some people got some pics..
Now if I could just get some Oswald the Rabbit ears...

Moved, merged and pruned. :)

I always enjoyed seeing the model in the Living Seas queue. Funny how it was hidden in plain view like that...so few of us realized we could've looked at it any time we wanted for over 20 years. ;)
