One more V3....Blue 5 X-Wing

I honestly didn't even know this kit existed until 6 months ago. Always wanted something larger than the 1/48 scale stuff out there and I'm stoked I found this one. I've loved looking at everyone's build of this beast and learned some great ideas from reading. i went in my own direction with paint as I wanted this one to be my own and not a screen used version. I always liked the idea of blue squadron over the red so i started there and added little touches here and there. I made my own armature and used a double hinged panavise mount to give me more display options. The lights and battery all managed to squeeze inside and is turned on/off by the rear mounting point cover. The button is in the aluminum tube is activated by pushing on the round cap. I used red lenses inside the engines along with red led's and just colored the ends of the fiber optic strands in the cockpit and R2. Overall I'm happy with it, just glad it's finally done. Thanks for lookin.

Nice work! I like the idea of the blue squadron. That gives it an individual touch.

You did a great job on that. Love the weathering. I did the same as you. I wanted mine to be different as well. Now we have Blue 5 and Blue 2!

Thanks, seeing yours done pushed me over the edge of painting it blue. I may just have to do one more in red maybe a red 12.

Excellent work :thumbsup But those pretty blue stripes will disappear in the final comp.

Not if they used a green screen ! :)

Great job, Ive always loved the Blue markings better than the red ones ! Nicely done !

Then wouldn't that make it a stealth X-Wing? :lol

Seriously though, nice work. I've got a CC V-1 in my stash. Seeing these great builds has me very tempted to pull it out. Only problem is I am too deep in other projects right now as it is.

Looks awesome. I am just getting started on my v3. If it comes out half as good as yours I'll be a happy man.
