Whenever I stumble on effects like those, my assumption is that there is some small start-up company out there like,
https://www.lunabrite.com/
or
Genesis Light Line LLC | gloRope.com
who managed to create some marvel of technology that specifically fits the desired purpose, even if it's for a substantial cost. That being said, hell of a good job to create such a substantial luminosity without the needs for a battery-operated LED bank or something similar.
Wouldn't suppose you would be willing to share your custom formula with adoring fans, would you? I will go even as far as mailing you a large box of cookies in trade. :love

Arcko,
Neither of those are reflective, those are glow in the dark...completely different technology then what we're using. That said, we did quit a bit of R&D with glow in the dark...and battery powered lights. Both had their pros and cons.
The glow in the dark materials created more problems then any other material by the simple fact that they were not exactly user friendly. Not only, but our goal from the start was a reflective property...something that worked in the daytime as well...not just a glow in the dark.
The price also made them difficult to pursue, for our product type that is. It's a wonderful product, but not suited to our needs...and let me be clear, I'm referring to our needs.
Powered lights look amazing, but we have over $15,000.00 invested in a single jacket and while it looks amazing, the costs are still too high to entertain for a jacket like the Sam Flynn TRON LEGACY design with it's over 120 square inches of light.
The lights we used though were waterproof, could bend in any direction, be squeezed into a tight ball and basically move in any direction, just like fabric.
Other lights out there are rigid and cannot be custom cut or shaped to specific needs...and we need this due to the fact that we have a movie design that we have to respect...and the fact that it's motorcycle wear so the garments have to be wearable and user friendly without having the lights bending, breaking and creating rigidity to the wearer.
Again, that all comes at a cost...one that did not make sense for the Sam Flynn jacket.
Other designs....maybe.:angel
So what did we do? Got to work and created a reflective system that accentuates our details, works with the smallest amount of light and has a good protective coating.
Second, and just as important as anything stated above...our goods are licensed by Disney Consumer Products so we do not and can not part them out in any way.
This means we do not sell our reflective strips separately, nor do we disclose what our system is or how it works. The end result came from months of trial and error, and a significant investment on our part to ensure that it not only worked, but worked beautifully....but nothing is off the shelf.
If you look at all our goods, nothing is traditional or simple about what it is that we do. Hollywood spends hundreds of thousands of dollars on costume development for what we all see on film, and our job is to replicate what they do 'visually' with good quality and well made products....but we don't operate with their million dollar budgets.
In the end though, that's exactly what we want all of our customers to feel... like just like they walked off of the actual movie set.
It's a tall order, but we're committed to our products, and to our customers...this is why we continue to think 'outside of the box' with every single item we introduce.
:cool
