Odd button on a Folmer Graflex

Hi all,
I do not have this saber any more. I got this many many years ago, probably 17 or so, from a camera shop and converted it with Blas-Tech parts. I have looked and many pictures of the vintage Graflexes and I have never seen this red button variation. Any info on this?

They came on early versions of the graflex. Scott has one in his Graflex thread that came on one like yours (folmer, no patent #)

I have one of those as well. It was on a Folmer/Patent tube.

This style of red button was used on the shared stunt for the Luke /Vader from ANH. It wasn't a graflex but an aluminum tube with an angled cut to emulate the curved shroud of the graflex. With the addition of a glass eye, graflex clamp and grips, this was the saber Luke swings around in Obi-Wan's hut. This same Saber was used by Darth Vader in his duel with Obi-Wan only with the shroud painted flat black. So this red button has some serious screen time in fact.

This one is slightly different from the button generally considered the one they used on the shared stunt. This one has an extra cut-out beneath the knurling that the shared-stunt button doesn't have.

This variation is covered in post #51 of scottjua's thread.
