Oblivion (2013) - Costume Found Object - ID The goggles, tactical gloves and boots?

So do u know what the exact correct map is? I know u said the amazon one is pretty close. Nobody has posted what the exact image is

I believe I do. I’m trying to print them for sale, but really couldn’t pull it together. Life happened.

I believe that the map is Chesapeake Bay, the “Mary” is Maryland, and I found an old map with the 50 in the corner. I don’t have the drive with me at the moment, but the only issue as I recall was the font was a little off on my map. I was going to keep looking for maps from the period, but after about 40 hours of screwing around with the project, I got burned out. lol

Anyone ever ID the correct Lays of Ancient Rome book? Ive searched but havent ever found the correct copy.

Also the book from the deleted scene 'the archives', is a 1990 Gunniess world records small paperback. The 1989 and 1991 editions look close but have different coloured backgrounds (white, yellow). I think the grey 1990 is the correct one. (Sorry for crappy phone screengrabs)

If anyone is interested there is a Ralph Lauren Double RR blue plaid shirt as worn by Tec49 on eBay at the moment, size medium. eBay #403835292596 for $104.95 in Portland Oregon. I already have this in medium but if anyone has one in XXL that is too big for them and would like to swap or knows where there is one this size available, I would appreciate a heads up.

Anyone else still searching for the Lays of Ancient Rome book? I found some copies with similar detailing on cover and spine, so im heading towards thinking its some sort of college/uni edition or gift maybe..

Goooood Morning Viet... er, old thread! :)

Those who painted the Wiley-X goggles, what color/flavor rattle can did you use? Flat grey? Gloss? White?
I rewatched Oblivion the other night and got fired up about the props and stuff again. Picked up a complete set of Wiley-X's off ebay for $32 shipped, so planning the painting now. :)

I used the same flat grey to match the rifle and pistol. Can't remember the exact brand/color, but I know it's in one of my build threads.

I've managed to find some useful info regarding the map.. I was watching the making of Oblivion the other day and on the section regarding the Jack on Jack fight there is some other views of unique names written in the scarf/bandana which points to an old map of Antarctica.

I believe it's the one from the Geographical Journal published in 1914, let me know what you think...

A quick search showed this for sale on a tee site (55x55):

Has it ever been mentioned anywhere what the model of his rifle is? Maybe in a novel or other media? Just curious. I only ever see it referred to as "The Oblivion Rifle." :)

LOL, I meant a fictional weapon name, like how Han Solo's pistol is a DL-44 instead of a C-96 Mauser. ;)

If somebody was interested in making a copy of the map/scarf/bandanna thing, you can buy a 600 DPI digital copy of the map from hipkiss.com for only $10. I did yesterday and the site owner, Jonathan Hipkiss, sent me an email curious about how I was going to use the image. I told him that it appeared it was used in the film and he was surprised at that. :)

The scan is pretty nice quality, and doesn't have the edge roll on the left that the web site image has, and it has a nice border too. Would only take minimal effort to clean up a couple spots in photoshop.

If somebody did a small run of these, it wouldn't hurt for people to buy a digital copy of the file, just to show appreciation for him actually HAVING the source material and sharing it. I assume he's not getting rich off scans of old maps. :D

Somebody should definitely do this. I'd be interested.

Amazing work Morgan! I figured out it was Antarctica but was never able to find the right map.
