This is one of my largest prints on my Ender 3. I've always wanted Ben's lightsaber, but I can't spend the money I'd need to for a decent replica.
The STL files were from Ultimaker in YouMagazine.com. It's the 14 piece complex version.
I had no difficulties printing the files. They were incredibly clean and the pieces fit perfectly. The parts were painted in metallic oil sprays. Eg, the grenade printed in black, was painted with Rustoleum Universal Metallic paint and primer Oil Rubbed Bronze, A dusting of Rustoleam painters touch flat black, and then a dusting of the oil rubbed bronze again.
The silver metallic parts were painted in white primer, then the Oil Rubbed Bronze, and lightly finished in Rustoleum Premium metallic finish shiny.
The brass parts were primed in white, then hit with Beati-tone Metallic Lacquer Brass spray.
I thought of sanding down the layer lines, but then decided that I kind of liked the lathe marks look.
