I'm working on a scenario Airsoft game to take place in February at a former military base.
Two sets I need to build are a nuclear reactor (with a control panel) and a nuclear weapons factory.
So far, I'm planning on building the reactor out of OSB and scrap wood. Because the reactor is buried in the floor, I only need to build the "lid." I've got serveral reference pics which are giving me some ideas.
I am also looking at using strobes and revolving lights to imply energy and radiation.
The control panel is being designed, different switches will cause strobes to become more intense or shut off. A separately wired bunch of blue LED Xmas lights will provide a radioactive glow.
In the weapons lab, I am polishing several stainless steel cylinders (travel coffee mugs turned upside down) for warhead components. I am planning on using cardboard for missie tubes.
I am also working on some cardboard "radio sets" which need to be destroyed.
Here's a pic of a "crashed" missile section I built for another scenario:
Other props I've put together for other games:
I'm looking for suggestions for (inexpensive) but impressive effects and setpieces. Large or small, anything which would make the scenario more realistic.
Any help would be appreciated!
