Notorious Jurassic Park NVG's

Best bet is going to be to get a couple large blocks of balsa wood as it's very easy to carve. Make yourself a wooden buck and then vacform over that. It won't shrink or crack like clay or melt like foam. You should be able to reuse it dozens of times without issues.

You'll want to use something like .80 styrene to get good detail and rigidity.

Sweet, thats what I will probably try then.

Could be as well, but what about the strap across the top of the head, Did a search and Could not find any with that strap as well?:confused

No, those are definitely from a face shield or arc welding helmet. I recognize the design, the head-strap assembly matches the sheilds we had in metal shop back in high school... Sort of like this:

or this:

Very similar design on these two (but not exact). If you want to try to find an exact match, try a surplus store that deals in construction equipment. You are looking for a late-80's/early 90's model. (I'm not sure how much they change over the years...) The green part might even be cut out of the same type of shield...

Gah! I keep thinking about the hard-foam liner in motorcycle helmets-

Look at the construction of this:

I can't track down any better pics, but could there be something there?

I think I migth have found the Grey Part around the Black Lens Area.

Halex Plastic Insulating Bushing

Do they make those in clear, by chance? I think the ones in the NVGs are clear because they have LEDs behind them... I guess you could make a mold of the bushing though...

Anyone know who has a real one? That first pic is from an auction, right? Someone must have it...

Unless Premiere Props decided not to sell it to the highest bidder...;)

I dont think they Have clear ones.
