Anybody got one of these? They've been out for a couple weeks now.
I picked one up last night, it's pretty neat. The glasses-free thing is definitely a plus, and you can adjust the depth or turn off the 3D entirely if you want.
I picked up Pilotwings for it.. that was the demo they had in the store when I first saw it and realized how well the 3D effect works. It's set up like most movies these days.. instead of the gimmick of things flying "out" of the screen, they set the focal point at the screen itself, meaning everything is "inside".. it's like looking through a window into a box.
And yes, it has a 3D camera built into it. Not the best camera (my iPhone takes better photos), but it's passable. And 3D. Haven't tested it that much yet. Naturally, it can view 3D photos, and I happen to dabble a bit in CGI, which means I can create my own 3D images (there are roundabout ways of loading them to the system to view).
I haven't figured out how the online works yet.. it says it's found six "StreetPass" contacts. Which I think means that there's six people around me here in the apartment complex that have one of these, but I can't figure out how to bring up a list of who they are. I think there's also some kind of online store thing, but I don't know if it's active yet.
All in all, not bad. Needs more titles.. the launch lineup is kind of thin, but I'm sure the developers will be all over it as it matures. Since I never had a DS, I can also pick up some other games that I never got around to playing.
