NIKE, you can go to hell. I'm making my own NIKE MAG's *NEW LED's* 12-21 pg.21

Re: NIKE, you can go to hell. I'm making my own NIKE MAG's *VIDEO* 10-29 Pg.10

I simply HAD to sign up when I saw this. This really is awesome. I'm the guy who sent you a message (mr2nut123) with a few pointers Brad, how's things?

If you need any funding at all, feel free to drop me a line. Definately made my day (year..?) seeing this :thumbsup

Hey Luke! Glad you made over hear and welcome.

Thank you very much for you critiques over at yourprops. Now you can just add them here.

I just formed up another shoe, so when I have the fabric sewn at the rear seam, I can make 2 shoes (the right and left shoes) at once. :love

Sure you don't want to mass produce them ? :love

Re: NIKE, you can go to hell. I'm making my own NIKE MAG's *VIDEO* 10-29 Pg.10

Just for the record, I was kidding !

I have no idea what 'version' I have ! It does the flashy thingy routine & that's fine with me :lol

haha sorry Alan I obviously didn't pick up on that :rolleyes

I think you have the first version judging by your pictures of your collection (which I am extremely jealous of by the way haha)

oh and Brad, the shoes look amazing!! Can't believe you've done all of this in such a short space of time, from finding a very similar fabric to a fully formed shoe!! Keep up the good work man!

Ey up Brad!

Sod finishing them, i'll have a pair like that, Sexy! :lol

In a way, I kinda like the orange type lower sections as they are more accurate to the film cast shoe, but then when you look at the Nikes lit up it does sway me a bit and they bring a bit of modern style to the shoe whilst still looking classic and true to the films. I do believe that the yellow sections do light up ok with the blue lights don't they..?

I sent you another reply over on yourprops before I signed up to here so feel free to reply via pm on here now if you would prefer.

When you say put my critiques here also, I don't really think there ARE any more than what I suggested in my first pm, and you are already well on the way to correcting those. :thumbsup

Yes, the will light up fine with LED's in them but I would still like to have clear soles.

I agree. I think for the LEDs the clear sole will be far better and the more I look at them the more I like them clear. I liked the fact that you have similar switches for enabling the lights too in your vid, so that they are hidden in the top section of the shoe.

So I was at our local CVS and I saw a $14 sewing machine and decided to give it a try.

I was not holding my hopes up BUT this little machine did what I needed it to for this test.

Here is the rear seam test. As you can see I did not line up the fabric perfectly, but I really only wanted to test what the seam would look like.

I still need to master it but I think I have a good idea of what to do now.

It looks good right? PLUS this is my first time using a sewing machine since 7th grade Home-Ec.

Almost perfect, just a little to the side at the top but for a first try that's almost spot on! Nice one.

That pic just highlighted something, are you planning on redesigning the white strap holding section to be rounder like the 'official' shoe? It still looks great, but with how you've stepped up the level greatly on all other aspects it wouldn't hurt to do that also :)

nice progress. can't wait to see all the parts getting together. A little Update on my project I finally found some nice fabric, now i can also start to sew and cover my foam parts. what do you think? pics with flash and without flash.

Yeah, I was just holding the material in place while I took this picture. I plan on having a shoe completed this week.

Not going to be touching the white ankle part or the gray area of the soles (except for a repaint).

The fabric looks great! Is is stretchy? If so, then it may be the same fabric that I am using. Did you have to dye it?

Yes it is super stretchy and no I didn't had to dye it just bought it in that grey tone. and i love the finish it shines like the real fabric when you shoot it with flash and it is normally matte....can't wait to start sewing.

Jedifyfe if you can manage the deal with the clear sole part count me in for a pair too please ;):cool

sorry I missed that one.

i searched for some stretch jersey fabric. jersey is the kind of knit style you see here. search for fabric called polyester jersey or polyester stretch jersey. The Jumbo Stretch you find in USA is a bit to shiny I think.

Hmmm. If you are using Jersey Knit, the only problem is that it becomes "fuzzy". You can kind of see that in your photos. The fabris I chose is not "fuzzy" at all and is very uniform.

The knit pattern looks really great though!

Re: NIKE, you can go to hell. I'm making my own NIKE MAG's *SEWING TEST* 11-1 Pg.1

Yes, you are absolutly right. But my plan is to protect the finished shoe with some kind of nano spray. It will protect the fabric and then it should be waterproof too. But i still think the knit pattern is a bit too small. I will give it a try but won't stop looking for a even better fabric.

I am going to protect my shoes as well using a Scotchguard sort of spray. We'll see how it works out. :thumbsup

I didn't realise two of you were doing this! Should be interesting to see how they both progress. Any pics Chris?
