LOL! I don't know if I would go that far BUT after I am done with these I will very proud of them. They still won't be 100% accurate.

Another couple of hours work tonight. I was able to replicate the concave heel area as well as the sloped in ankle sides. Also I was able to glue both haves of the shoe foam together and get it closer to looking seamless.
Moving along.
I really need to re-work the shoe form that I sculpted. That would sabe me a lot of time. I'll do that next week.
What do you think?

I totally agree with your attitude about Nike releasing the Mags. What I want to know is when do the fans actually get to own a pair? Keep up the good work buddy... I can't wait to see these finished.

Thanks guys! This so far has been a fun and educational build. I really can't wait to get to the fabric stage, where I can cover the form, then onto installing the lights/EL sheet and the paint on the soles.
Speaking of the soles, the real NIKE's have a texture to them which I can accomplish by glueing garage floor texture flakes to the soles, repainting them grey and then blue splatter painting them. Your thoughts?

I would if I could but I have NEVER made a mold or cast in rubber. If I knew someone that could do it and NOT destroy the sole, then I would send them the sole.

Yeah the texture they used on the screen pairs was Zolatone. Popcorn texture spray looks good too, you can find at hardware stores or wal mart. same deal you have to apply then repaint it the grey and blue

I might...MIGHT...convert another pair for sale (upper redone, lights, EL sheet and paint). They would be in the $1500-$2000 range (plus the cost of the shoe) though...AGAIN...MIGHT!

Yeah I only do about 75% of the shoe because I will need to find someone to sew the fabric pattern before I glue it to the foam. But I already have an idea of how to accomplish that easily. These will be more accurate to the screen used shoes and not very wearable. BUt honestly, I don't care about wearing them. I have spent a total of $260 on these so far (inlcuding the $200 for the shoes). I expect to spend another $200-$300 to perfect them and have them sewn. Then I will have a 95% accurate replica for under $600.
