NIKE MAG's to be re-released in November?? Is this true?

Good points, and rather lame points too. I dont earn 100K a year, not even close.
I also, wont use any form of credit, to buy a prop, let alone, a pair of footwear, i intend to use, and wear out over time.

So, yeah, bring on the bootlegs, i still wont be swayed.

This is why I am making my own. Even the released versions are not 100% accurate to the original prop.

.... But the truth of the matter lies in the fact that it was an auction. There was no set price, and Nike donated the shoes and ate the production costs....

I also saw some people on NT that had little to no interest in the shoes themselves...and had the means to DONATE quite a large sum of money, which translated into upwards of 7 pairs. One guy even went into a story about his mother who was a victim of cancer, and wished he could have done more for her as he watched her deteriorate...he couldn't, so now he does what he can whenever he can. So he was able to bid on...and win 7 pairs. He seemed to be more concerned with helping a cause close to his heart, than the Mags themselves.

Nike indirectly set a high price by choosing to sell only 1500 pairs. A stupidly low number considering how many people want these shoes. It's simple economics. Limit the supply and the price will go up. They could have made more shoes, bringing in just as much money if not more for the charitable cause, while making more fans happy at the same time.

And your example of someone buying 7 pairs who doesn't even have interest in the shoes just furthers my point. That guy shrank the pool of shoes available to people who are actually interested in the shoes themselves. If he wants to give money to the MJF Foundation or any other charity, he can freely do so anytime he wishes without getting shoes he doesn't even want. I'm willing to bet that most of the 1,500 auction winners (or less since some bought multiple pairs) aren't even BTTF fans.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not against the charity at all. I'm not opposed to donating money. I just can't afford to give away 3 to 5 thousand dollars. And if I did, and got the shoes, I couldn't even enjoy them because I'd never bring myself to wearing shoes that cost so much money.

Many others surely agree that probably 90% of the people who signed the online petition to get the MAGs made were not able to buy a pair. Kind of silly, don't you think? It's like holding an auction for food, and inviting Ethiopians and Americans. Who's gonna be able to buy it, and who wants it more? The BTTF fans were definitely left out in the cold on this one.

/\ Great points DL and that is pretty much what I think also.

Let's say NIKE released these in a production of 100,000 shoes at $300 each. That equals $30,000,000. They could have donated 25% ($8 million)of that to the Foundation and pocketed the rest.

While I had the money to buy these, I could not bring myself to spend that much money on a prop. Especially when they are not 100% accurate.

Just for kicks (pun intended) The last few shoes that sold on ebay were in the $4300-4700 range. So suck it resellers!

That actually sounds a little high. I see pairs sitting there with Buy It Nows for $4000. The range seems to be more in the $3200-$3500 range.

So everyone agrees it won't come out till 2015?? And if so... I believe it will be another or maybe 2015 pair to be auction off!! So good luck to us all...
