Bravo! I really hope the factory can reproduce these. I do have a question though. Is this grey material just for the mock up? Because it looks a little too dark. It kind of reminds me of cloneprops prototype.

I just used some dark cuffing fabric I had lying around. I ran out of grey.

Even cloneprops uppers shape is not correct. He placed the laces incorrectly to the grey soles and back seam shape and sides of collar are not correct.

I'd say his uppers were 95% accurate, just a few things off, along with the oversized heel.

Still better than v2 though.

It's not really a big deal buying from factories in china. I've bought containers lots of times before, my family buys regularly from china (non shoe related).

You just need some balls and courage and the cash and it's done.

I actually went to China in 2009 and must say, an eye opening experience that I'd like to do again. Sourced my product, visited the manufacturing facilities and did quite well from it.

I was wondering if someone was selling modified Nike straps with aqua panel inside?
I saw that few months ago (I guess) but can't remember which member...

that might have been who45 if i remember correctly but i don't think they are doing any more.

Are you planning to use a seperate battery/inverter just for the strap like the Mark Poon example for sale?

Or do you simply want the modified strap with the aqua el panel fitted and glued back ready to solder your own wires onto the end if you are planning a full modification and want everything to run off 1 button hidden in the collars?

Actually, I was hesitant but I'm gonna try the complete 1 button 9V setup even if his 3V separate setup looks easier to install.
I don't want 2 switch buttons.
I will contact who45 to see if he still selling those, thanks!

I thought Mark Poon was doing a run of these for about $50. I found one on eBay for $200 last night.

Even if he went the MP route, could the battery and switch not be by-passed and powered by the circuit that lights the soles?

The MarkPoon strap upgrade is actually a kit, with the buyer having to assemble it by soldering the wires to the EL panels, etc. Meaning the panels can be used alone and added to your own electronic setups and just setting aside the rest of the kit

hi guys! Can anyone recommend a good online store for EL sheets around the US, pls? Do I need A4? A5? A6? I've googled EL sheets but wanna make sure which site most guys go to....

Thanks for any help and advice!

Slightly OT, but pretty cool, so thought I would share.

Today I bought a small pot of Glow In The Dark powder as well as some Royal Blue pigment.

You can see the loaded syringe to get an idea of the shade of blue. I mixed 90 grams and that is just 1 drop of the blue.

This is the first time I have used this, so the parts I am making (still waiting for them to cure) will be both Blue as well as be able to Glow In The Dark. The parts in the mold are embedded NIKE logo strap parts and new thicker Heel Cup bubbles.

I am seriously considering making myself a pair of Glow In The Dark soles as well.

The powder actually glows green, so why I am adding blue to the mix. Hopefully the final result will be more cyan as the green is filtered through the blue.

This is still a work in progress, but hopefully with some tweaking will be pretty cool. On the left is the original part and on the right is my new modded part. I have added blue pigment to the rubber and this batch also has glow in the dark stuff as well.

Just an FYI, the ankle bubble on the real mags is not flat at all. It's very rounded.

how big is the elastic on the real ones?

the ones on the v2 are around 15mm, the real ones look around 13mm im guessing.

The ones in the movie are harder to tell, they look slightly bigger than the 2011 ones.

Hello, I'm new to the community but have been quietly following the post. You guys are awesome! I had a quick question, hope it's not too silly.

@ Cavx Did you dye or simply paint the plastic shell for your LED heel bubble in the respective colors? If so is it effective way to help the LEDs distubute light yet allowing the right amount of color to shine through once they are lit. I was going to remove the Stock LEDs but wanted to know if this can possibly be a substitute. I wasn't sure if Cloneprops did the same. I hope my question makes sense.

Also does anyone have the vector files for the Nike Mag Logo? I've been trying to make my own from sight but it hasn't been accurate. Thank you!

Thanks a lot Vormz!

I will try it out and paint the bubble with a light coat of Red, Yellow & green Acrylic. Thanks for the template as well it is a big help. I was also looking for the "Nike Mag" Logo that is on the heel. Was thinking of trying to make a 3D Print out of it to test out but wanted an accurate Vector to start off with first. Thank

Yes I did. For a display pair, you will want the 12 LEDs, but for a wear pair, it doesn't really matter, and I used alcohol based pens and colored in the slots. I used a single white LED behind that. I think Cloneprops had the 12 LEDs the same as what Jedifyfe does.

You're welcome.
That's all I have for now maybe someone else has the MAG letters.

I can not seem to find it right now, but I had a vector file for the MAG. It should be posted in the original V1 MAG thread from 2011.
