Stitching on the strap.. They could only be who45's, seller lives in the states, so I wonder who bought alot of these straps as they are selling these for some price on eBay ....

This made me laugh. This is taken from the description of his shoes.
"Don't over pay for inaccurate replicas."
Report this fraud.

Alright, I'm in the middle of surgery now on the first toe mod. Brad, what did you do with the pink board under the foam insert? Should I rip the whole thing out or did you only cut it away near the toe area? It looks like it's missing in your video after you trim the grey material. Thanks.

EDIT: I think I see you tore it out only at the toe area. (Please correct me if I'm wrong)

Yep, I only removed the part in the toe area. I cut it away where the battery goes as well.

Would anyone know how to turn this image into actual size so we can use it as a template? the idea would be to make it the correct size for the shoe size used, print it off, cut it out then just stick it ontop of the EL panel and then marked out and cut.

The reason i ask is because the shape of these are not semi circular, they are more like pyramids with the tops rounded off and to replicate that you would need to do it by hand, which i want to stay away from doing. Also we would have the spacing inbetween each "dome shape" perfectly spaced.

If anyone knows or fancies such a challenge i would be very grateful as i am really crap at stuff like that, this is the best I have come up with so far as a template, it's just the image rescaled printed and cut out roughly...

The loop holes comment wasn't directed at you. This is a mod that a few people want to do but I think would end up looking horrible if done.

I agree as there does not seem to be enough material left to tuck and glue this properly.

As far as the swoosh is concerned, there would either be glue or the laces would still have an indentation of where they were once glued.

What is the official NIKE SWOOSH? I've done searches and found a few possible versions including one almost identical to the one on these shoes. I understand the point being the SWOOSH on these shoes is different to the one on the RD MAG.

I have to imagine that all the mods that have been done already are the mods that will only be done..but I would love to be proven wrong.

Could you please provide a measurement of the waffle please? Hopefully next week, I can re-visit my clear sole attempts and get something happening that other members can duplicate. These shoes would rock with outrigger soles.

not sure if anyone needs some, but shortly i will be getting some bulk cuttable EL Sheets in A5, Aqua colour.

I'll have quite a few so will put some in the junkyard, cheaper than anywhere in the UK.

Send me a PM if you need any.

PM sent Airair.

$1.40 for 25 of each color? Don't you mean $1.40 for 5 of each color? If you get 25 LEDs of one color then they're $6.30. You just have to order 2 packages of 5 of each to have enough for one pair.

Thanks for spotting that, my bad! Edited post and also added the frost spray link for the led bubbles as I missed that.

I've had this in my mind for the past couple days and I'd like some confirmation on it.

Is the part pointed to by the arrow the only point of connection, or does it go all the way down to the solid black line?

The way people have done it here is a thick connection like I said going down to the black line. It's just really hard to tell from pictures and videos.

I've come up with a mod that I think will be easy, but I'm not sure if people would want to do it. My idea is when you pry the clear sole away from the midsole for putting the EL in, you paint the grey material with white enamel paint. That way they will look whiter and you wouldn't be able to see the grey material with splatter. Then just continue to put the EL in once it's dry and seal it back up.

Hopefully this will help both you & Taff83 as a template for the EL. I posted a LOAD of reference photos for Cavx in the v2 & v3 which hopefully could be of some use.

Honestly, I can't tell even zoomed in. I can see a little sliver at the bottom of what could be a part of the EL, but I'm not 100% sure. Where the rubber comes to a mountain shape blocks what is under it. Could you just tell me? lol

There's actually no EL under the ridge of the sole, it's just a refraction of the EL that you can see. I've labelled the photo to indicate.

Massive thanks for that photo, so what we see then is two el panels not one solid piece? Only way its possible to have the connection in the centre I think.

Good to know the ends are rounded, awesome diagram!:thumbsup

It's quite strange because it could be one EL panel in the entire shape of that window section with a very thin template covering it to block out the middle section & round the corners of the EL in white. If I look very closely there is also about 1mm of the same white all around the edge of the EL. It may well be a specifically manufactured part rather than just a cutout from an EL sheet but would never know unless the shoes were deconstructed.

Your probably 99% right there, one piece specially made would be easier for them to produce, cutting up panels would take them too long as a result cost more.

Really happy you have confirmed the end edges of the panel are rounded, that helps me a lot trying to get these as accurate as possible.

100% those EL for the RD shoes were custom cut and templated.
Normally, the EL Sheet manufacturers can decide on the shapes and connections.

For most cuttable sheets, they just put on pins at the edges.
For the RD mags, they must have specifically designed a type of sheet for their purpose.

For most of us, the standard El cutouts by hand will have to do!

PS Taff83!

For the Led board, I ended up using some plastic from an old Mr Crawfords chocolate selection plastic biscuit box! lol!

I didn't even paint it, it was red, so what I did was use some White electrical tape and stuck it over, then made some really small pin holes using a sewing dethreader!

worked perfect.

So if any of you have some old plastic biscuit boxes, or tubs of margarine with some fairly stiff plastic, you should be good to go!
