Tedious and irritating.......i thought scary upon looking at it...... But armed with A stitch unpicker, 5 mins with a screwdiver, a further 5 mins to push it in position, 30 mins total job time for both shoes including re routing the wiring ito the shoe base whilst also having it hidden under thefabric..... I was expecting it to be Difficult but i found it very easy
It looks the same as jedis switch location,i bought 10 switches in case i goosed up
My leds wouldnt run all in series, despite resistors or no resistors maplin were totally unable to find info on the goody bag spec sheet.....stupidly the reds have the voltage info where the green and yellow didint. I basically ran 2 leds in series and then the orher 2 from that row of 4 and just adjusted the led pins to carry the - and + to each other whilst still using one resistor for all 4 in the row.
I have the thin invertors but i have contacted dave at el wirecraft to ask if he can get them in stock. Had alot of items from dave so if anyone asks himthe same question then demand for them may result in him stocking them
All my wiring is in, ive trial worn them and all conncetions are solid, nothing can be felt on the foot from the styrene led bit,
In total i have spent maybe 6 hours modding a pair of shoes with also a total rewire to 9v and they are identical to jedis in finished product both in quality and durability. Very happy with them for my first attempt
My biggest hurdle was the loctite vinyl glue jedi used, simply seems to me its not a product available in the uk, shoe goo instead worked a charm on a test piece and was dry in under 30 mins....i just have basic finishing left on mine now
