Here are the box measurements:
40.3 cm length
45.5 cm width
15.3 cm high with out lid
15.7 cm high with lid
.4 cm thick lid
flap 8 cm overhang

My source didn't give me the thickness of the box material, but it looks to be 1/4 inch, or 0.635 cm. There are 3 foam inserts in the box. One solid piece to cover the bottom, and two that are cut to fit the shoes. They are all 3/4 inch thick.

And here is a picture to make into a template for the foam inserts if anyone wants to do it.

Keying a surface is basically going over it with an abrasive of some sort where its scratches the material and then helps the paint to stick

I'm tempted to replace the nike logos on the sides when I get mine. How well are they attached?

Very well. I think you need to have these in hand before thinking or suggesting other mods. There is a fine line between "wanting" to do something and what is "practical". Meaning that certain mods would be nice (ie. the loop holes begin unstitched, the swoosh being redone), but these mods could EASILY get screwed up and you'll have a pair of MAG's that look chopped up.

My goal was always to subtly do certain key mods that make these look better, not necessarily identical to the RD's. This is why replacing the soles with the outrigger soles will prove difficult and most likely won't look any better than what is already on the shoe. AND you run the risk of having your soles come unglued when you're out and about.

I never mentioned unstitching the loop holes. I said I would ask the seller if I could get a pair without them cut or stitched at all so I could to it myself. But I'm not going to do that anymore because they probably don't take orders like that. But I get what you're saying. Even if I got the logo off, there would be glue stains showing if I replaced it with an accurate one.

The loop holes comment wasn't directed at you. This is a mod that a few people want to do but I think would end up looking horrible if done.

You will not find a seller that has the capabilty of selling you any sort of unstitched shoe. ALL sellers are buying these from the wherehouse/manufacturer and could care less what we want done or not done to them. The sellers are simply the middlemen and they will not take requests or comments. They just want your money with as little hassle as possible.

As far as the swoosh is concerned, there would either be glue or the laces would still have an indentation of where they were once glued.

I have to imagine that all the mods that have been done already are the mods that will only be done..but I would love to be proven wrong.

Oh ok lol. And I think the only practical things left to do is making an accurate box or putting more splatter on the midsoles if there isn't enough. But that's only if you really want it. I think the shoes are as far as they can get. Anything else would be a waste of time and money with too high of risk.

So went and mixed up Testors enamel hobby paint (colors flat black, green, dark blue, gloss turquoiuse, and royal blue). I can't tell you the mixture % of each but I just kept mixing until I got the correct color.

I painted these by hand is a very small brush.

Here are before and after pics:

WOW! They look great. Perfect! :thumbsup

WOW Brad! Epic work!! Massive improvement I think, great work getting the paint mixture as well :)

Hey Taff, will your other setups you are testing also be rechargeable?

Sure will be, but for this charger cable it will be dc pin one end but the other end will be USB, then you just use a 2 or 3 pin plug that has a USB slot on it, well that's the plan anyway.. Who knows what will happen, might end up having to plug it into a car battery.

Inspiring as always. I plan on doing this too and was wondering how exactly to go about it.

Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds

GREEN, YELLOW AND RED LEDS – 12 Volt LED ($1.40 for 25 of each colour)

$1.40 for 25 of each color? Don't you mean $1.40 for 5 of each color? If you get 25 LEDs of one color then they're $6.30. You just have to order 2 packages of 5 of each to have enough for one pair.
