Just letting people know...another good battery to use for this would be a replacement PS3 controller battery. 1800Mah and very small and thin, you could even stack 2 if you wanted. And they are like $7 for 2
Your a legend dude! Thanks for sharing that!! Best battery find to date in my opinion not just for size, weight and mAh but also it is the safest option as it already has the +/- already soldered up.
Again thank you so much for posting this in my thread
Two ordered!
I agree. Now can someone figure out how to run all the EL's and LED's off this battery with the correct brightness, along with a charge port?...
I'm on it mate, two ps3 batteries ordered earlier with overnight delivery so will get them on Tuesday, got another 3v inverter arriving, soldered up 12 LEDs (green yellow and red) also got a A5 EL panel ready to hook up.. So I will have this question answered this week and will also implement the dc charger.

i read somewhere the dimensions are 35 x 55 x 5mm
I just looked at the v2 buckles, that even if you stick the thinnest inverter and battery combo, because the buckle is not hollow, its very hard to hide something in there.

If you wanted even more space you could shave probably 2mm off the PS3 batteries...they come cased in plastic (they have a seam around the side) you can cut around it and split it very easily and that will leave you with this. For a even smaller battery, make sure you cover up the board with electrical tape before you use it though. (I do believe it's a protection circuit on the battery)
As for having troubles powering everything off one battery, I myself don't have much experience with EL products but have tons of experience with LEDs. I have powered about 50 LEDS off a single PS3 battery. I am assuming the EL pieces draw a lot of current? You could always hook 2 batteries together and use resistors for the regular LEDS and the EL wire should have plenty power then? That would allow you to charge the batteries at the same time and have a single switch, and DC port ect.

Thanks for sharing the 3D buckle Cavx!![]()
Hi guys sorry for the non posting of my progress
Caloss there is a mod thread for stuff like this...

Brad the huge sole EL looks sick. I'm curious, which inverter are you using with these V2s, and where are you hiding it?
