Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds

Has anyone who has slimmed their toe taken any on-feet shots? I'd love to see what they look like with a bit more shape, and a foot usually can provide that.

Rich that is unbelievable how small the inverter is

Good to see the test panel I sent you all lit up :)

Luke awesome job! Nice tutorial aswell mate, thanks for posting!

Ye I did Nick, not sure what page it's on in this thread but here it is again.

About the toe mod - once this is done do you think the shoe loses integrity? I want to be able to wear these out and about - but also do the toe mod.

Thoughts from those that have done this?

Not in the slightest. It's criss crossed fibres inside with glue to give it shape rather than the plastic cup on the poons. Just as rigid when done, been wearing mine all afternoon outside.

Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds

Thanks for kind words all. It's what the rpf is all about!

I think I'd like to just get a small battery and inverter behind the white buckle to have an EL strap and I'm done. Can't be bothered with EL sole, I think they look pretty good at night and will consume less power.

Cracking job on the strap Brad. If you would be willing to make me a set and send me all the stuff I need drop me a line. :thumbsup

Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds

What is the colour of that panel you sent me??

First off it looked green but then by tweaking my circuit I can get it to look more blue as per these photos

Need to play around at work on Monday as I left my resistor book (read works resistor book!) at work and only have a limited selection of them at home..annoyingly not the ones I need.

Basically the Inverter is working but for some reason its not outputting 160Vac...more around 70vac so the panel looks slightly duller then it should do. Not a major biggy and with the use of a scope and the proper resistors I should sort that in no time.

hey Taff83,

did you have to open up the inside of the sole under the foam sole insert like jedifyfe to wire your EL Strap cable through to the EL for the soles?

i understand you are using EL for the strap and Soles which are running off the mobile battery, and you've left the leds to run off the existing v2 switch?

or are you going to just redo the entire wiring like jedifyfe?

looks amazing

so what wiring setup would you recommend with your circuit board when its finished?

normally the wiring setup is this one below by jedifyfe.

Thats with a 9v battery and 9v inverter i think.

So with your mini inverter, would we need 2 inverters to run this setup? or would 1 be ok?
with a mobile battery which is 3.7v, and your custom inverter, that would be a great space saver.

the aim is to have a small battery and inverter in the buckle, so charging or battery replacement can be done very easily.

Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds

Im not sure if it can run 2 panels just yet.

My plan is use the current battery in there to be honest. BUT we need to figure out where to tap the power from to run to the inverter as its NOT supplied by the switch it seems. Its done on the PCB somewhere in the trainers by the looks of things.

ok i see.

its a single CR2032 3v coin cell powering the leds in the v2 soles i think from the previous pictures.

Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds

It's simple to get access to the battery in the shoes. Once you pry up the bottom part of the sole it's sitting right there.

Also there are two separate leads coming off the PCB to the blue LEDs, that's where I would tap in. Although those leads may have resistors lead into them from the PCB.

Brad youre the man! gotta send you pictures of the tron jacket i finished, thanks to you man it looks awesome

Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds

Don - it's aqua coloured should look like this http://bit.ly/V3mj31

Airair - I did it as Brad explained in his last post and both el work off phone battery, I don't mind using two charger ports so long as everything is rechargeable easily..which it is.

My mission at the moment is to get one switch working.

Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds

Without playing with the default circuit in these V2s, what is the best way to simply just add an EL panel? Cloneprops rear buckle with a battery in there? I don't mind having the Nike logo on a battery and having two seperate switches (well, until we can get that amazing circuit linked by don!)

Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds

which site that sells them takes paypal? The one jedifyfe posted doesn't and my bank denies the transaction for some reason

Cool thank you.

I figured out my problem. Must invest in my own scope for at home. Bottom line Im a ****** and it helps to order the correct bits :$

Geek/

Found my circuit does output 160Vac (peak to peak) but ideally I require 180-220vac (Peak to Peak) to give me enough AC RMS to make the panel brighter. I see about 70Vac (RMS) on my circuit and to really get a good level of brightness I need around a little bit more to around 90-110vac RMS. Need to order the correct bit for that today.

Just go with Karin at aliexpress. I paid with visa debit and there's no dodgy business going on. Got mine in 7 days to the UK!

Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds

"Product no longer available"

When added to basket :(

Edit forget that Ali express loaded up the mobile site for some reason

Re: Nike Mag V2 mod discussion and builds

BAh bits will be delayed until tomorrow :(

You recently placed an order with Farnell and the goods were scheduled to ship last night from our UK warehouse. However due to a service failure within the warehouse last night, these goods didn’t despatch until this morning

Thats twice in a month now the useless buggers.
