cavx I found a way to have a power line much like you spoke of, for my test of this idea on my display pair I'm currently working. On my inverter (if you have it) I have a female AC adapter so I ran the inverter up the lining on the back of the shoe and out the hole where the old charger and momentary switch was on the shoe and plugged in a 6v AC wall pack but I may run to my local electronics store and buy a 9v or 12v wall pack. Do you think the 12v power pack will be too much even if I buy a 12v inverter ? if so I may buy a 9v AC wall pack. My results were pretty well I feel I may use this on my display pair instead of running off a 9v battery.

wow, take a lot of picture to document this. So we can figure out how it is made and learn more about the assembly. (I'm thinking about doing this too, when i'll have enough money for another pair...). You should use the pattern from cavx, I' pretty sure it's the right size (if not, it is scalable).

Yeah a good idea on a display pair, though I will probably use alligator clips on the 9V terminals.

No multi-meter at the moment BUT, I completely overlooked the wire. It seems it has these white dashes on one side of the wires.

I assume the white dashes are my positive?

If that's the case, then I assume I can just cut off the ends, and connect that to my 9v connector?

You know what they say about ASS-U-ME, but it makes sense to me too that the white stripes would be positive.

wiring speakers has previously been positive for the marked wire, if that helps - as long as positive goes to positive. You don't wnat that burny smell when you connect positive to negative!

A while ago, someone posted about their 9V batteries getting really hot. Thinking about it now, I bet they placed the switch across the terminals (wires) instead of using it to break the current flow of either the positive or negative wire.

@RVLF you have done an awesome job on that trim for the tongue.

After repairing my left MAG's broken wire on Sunday, I noticed this morning that my LEFT shoe has another issue. If I press on the side the rubber of the clear sole, all the lights in the shoe go out. There appears to be no brakes, but I fear that the wires soldered to the terminals may now be the issue.

Wore these to the cinema last night for the premiere of THE FORCE AWAKENS. These were the same cinemas that ran a special BTTF on October 21, so not only did I get an invite, I got tickets and merch (an awesome TFA stormtrooper helmet drink bottle).

And yeah, waiting, waiting, waiting for my session to start. I was going to capture a shot like this with the big yellow SW on screen, but didn't want to cause an upset :)
Anyway, the cinema staff loved these as I didn't have EL working in them when I went to their Oct 21 screening.

Thanks cavx :)

Here is the beginning of the "V3 Upper" (for V2... I know, it's confusing)...
The new fabric will be berely invisible after trimming the excess and hidden under the strap :

Again awesome work.

I found, what I think, is a perfect match for the grey at a local fabric suppliers.

if the grey ones are made of the same fabric, I will ask if my reseller can order the same in grey color.
just finishing the pattern for my second shoe... now, it's time to sew it...
cavx : can you ask him the reference ? So I'll compare to the one I found in black.

PS : out of subject > did you post the GITD for me ?

I will and I did. You didn't get anything yet?

cavx, is that the ankle lights with the overlay on top of the EL sheet? It looks all blended together.

I didn't bother with the 12 hole aperture on my pair, so the colours bleed. It would look better if there was more yellow and no, an all EL system is not as bright as LEDs.

Run times are amazing though. Over 24 hours from a pair of batteries. This is the batteries 2nd run because I wore them 8 or so hours on Sunday. They were fired up at 8PM last night and turned off at 4am this morning and I could probably almost get another run from them this Saturday.
