cavx the problem is that the logo is VERY low to the strap.
Well i'm gonna give it a try, and if it becomes a mess i'll try to find some vynil to replace both straps with black leather probably.
I'm trying to get the seller send me another left strap to avoid high shipping cost and timeloss.

How did everyone go about making the little holes for the leds to stick through. Having some trouble I don't have a drill bit that thin. Been trying to hammer a small nail through each hole but it's becoming a bit of a pain
I did you try with a x-acto knife ?

Selling on Ebay for over $6000!!! 45 bids....
OH GOD! My soul just died.

I don't think I'll ever understand people.

I just found the listing and jeez. I think I need a drink to deal with the sadness that brought me.

When will people learn they should just send ALL RD Mags to us. We will care for them in they way they were meant to be cared for. (And possibly mold the soles on a couple pairs :lol )

So I finished the leds....Was a pain in my ass LOL. Now im working on the EL for the sole. I cut them out more or less to the shape needed. How does everyone get that perfect shape to the EL considering its one solid pannel. I was thinking maybe cutting out the template for the EL and removing the part where the EL is supposed to be showing and maybe over lay the template on top of the EL and tape it so only the parts I want to shine through does. If you get my meaning...hard to explain

chuck2003, do you mean like this? Say the blue is all one piece and the black middle part is a piece of electric tape covering the light to look like 2 separate lights

Just a word of warning. Having the resistors dangling out the back like that will flex them too much over time and they will snap off. Also, you will want to put hot glue over the entire soldering points, just to make sure they don
t short each other out if they happen to touch.

Ok thanks Ill see if i can try and shorten them a bit so they dont stick out so much and I will hot glue the back tonight

wow!
what a buffoon!

If he wanted to fix, he would have been better off just pulling off the entire white ankle piece, as that part is the bit thats glued on and then it could at least be glued back on!

I was going to drill these, but my wife has this neat little tool as a part of her scrap booking stuff called a "cropodile" which has a 3mm and 5mm hole punch as optional tools. I also discovered it had a depth gauge, so once set, could punch out 16 holes from each (for the two parts) and then reset the depth for the centre line.

That would be better. That way you still have your shoes and can start modding those.

Not that the part would come off easy, but has to be better then what he did. What a dick.

hi you guys! heard you were the best at modding the replicas to the real thing. I really really want to make my own pair whats the best tips for a beginner? Whats the best replica to buy? I'm going for the halloween version so How can I make the light straps, nike swoosh, lights grow brighter? if its against the rules can I buy any here?

Whats the best replica to buy?

Buy the V2s and stay away from the Halloween Costume shoes. The HCs are too much work and they are not tall enough. V2s are already branded. You can wear V2s out of the box and know they will look good and be even better after some modding.

Any links for them? Your right I did the math the halloween ones are $100 plus ebay has the decals for $80 including lights depending on how much the V2s are I should Just buy those. are they bright too with the led lights?

You can get V2s from about $230 now. Just a bit challenge finding a good seller since Karen Chen stopped selling these shoes.

The LEDs are OK, but the electronics die in these shoes pretty fast and you will want to upgrade the shoes to EL. Lucky we have guys like Jedifyfe that have made tutorial videos on modding these.

By the way I see a lot of you guys using shoe goo and other glues to hold your shoes back together. I sole swap people shoes like 1990 Jordans cause they crumble and what ever giving you a heads up barge infinite cement is the best glue by far as seen in the pictures. You can play basketball in these again. As for the holes in the midsole its from the fake factories trying to save more money by cutting out materials. Also how did you guys remove the midsoles so cleanly2015-08-15 14.24.00.png

The Barge Infinity has been mentioned a few times in the past. It is a gel glue? Does it stain? Right now I am using Tarzan's Grip because it does not stain the cloth and bonds really well if you can let it set up for 24 hours. It is also a gel glue.

The V2 midsoles have a series of holes to cut down the weight and to make the sole a bit more flexible and softer to walk on. The rubber itself if quite hard, so if the soles were solid, they would be both heavy and hard under foot.

The easiest way to get the upper off is to start at the Heel Cup. With a bit of heat, it is almost scary how easy they break at this point. Once you open the heel, the mid sole pretty much lifts away as you work your way to the front.

TIP: Unless you can an expert at re-building shoes, do not remove the upper entirely. In the last sock toe mod I did, the upper was attached at the part where the lights are. The rest came off. This made bonding the upper back much easier and sock toe came out really good.
