I am new to this site, but first off must say how impressed I am with everybody's skill and creativity with their work on the MAGS. I am currently working on my own pair but am very new to this and know they won't come out exactly how i would like. Is there anyone on here willing to sell me a pair if I provide the rep shoes???

Just got these in.. Yay

So who's shoes are still holding together or falling apart? I noticed yesterday that the heel cup on the left shoe had all but come away from the fabric. It can never fall off the shoe as it is now one piece with the mid-sole.

Anyway, lucky for 5min super glue. A bit on the rubber's inside surface, hold and press from inside the shoe and all fixed and no glue spills.

Mine are fine - admittedly I only get to wear them on the occasional weekend but apart from the midsole yellowing (which I repainted) and the outsole yellowing they are still all good. I just took them out of the box to see if the lights are still working, and one was, but flat battery on the other, so plugged them in to charge. :)

The left light finally karked it, they'd been charging all night .... got nothin. Oh well, had to happen sometime with those wimpy wires and stuff.

How long you had them? How often do you wear them?

I've had them since they were first released back in 2012 I think it was. Was on the waiting list with a supplier when the news first came out (The shop has since been closed down to to counterfieting claims, or at least their site closed and I don't know the new one) I think I would have worn them about once a week on average (usually weekends) and they were fine till recent. They worked at the Lindsey Stirling concert I went to in late February..... Lasted longer than many others on here, so should count myself lucky.
Boss is pretty casual with clothing in the office where I work so I guess I could have worn them more, but I always got the feeling they might get wrecked when I had to go out to the factory area to fix things :D

Hi guys. Need help here. I got the wrong EL sheets as they are too powerful, 12v and not compatible with the mini 9v inverter. The battery heats up and drains life quickly. Where do you guys buy EL sheets that's based in the US? I know there's e-luminates but they're prices are out of my range at the moment. Any help or leads are greatly appreciated. Thanks..

Ralph

WOW. I bought mine a bit after July 2013 and the lights failed in 3 days.

By late October that year I had developed deep cracks in the mid-sole behind the front oval parts on both shoes. I used to patch these with superglue. The glue would work, then another crack would appear next to the repair. It was almost as if the rubber was crumbling. Has not been an issue now since laminating my mid-soles with a flexible and very durable grey rubber.

I did 3 light repairs (after getting my lights working again) and I was done with broken wires after the 3rd time, so went the GITD route and all lighting issues are now solved.

What I am a little concerned about now is that the wear marks appearing just near the base of the Ankle Buckle, almost as if the plastic is starting to rub through.

So basically we're all pouring money into a pair of shoes that isn't going to last 5 years.

Yep :lol If the fabric doesn't break down first.

I have faith that my rubber upgrades will last much longer than 5 years.

I think they're fine only for display or wearing them few days a year. That what I'll do anyway.
Maybe if I had a second pair... but can't afford it.
