***** dude, are you part Sasquatch? Lol

Being 6'7" has is pros and it's cons. One of the bigger cons is when it comes to stuff like this; special shoe releases. I personally won't by a shoe that I can't wear, even if I don't intend to actually use them, I'd like the option to though should I feel like it. The last two shoe releases that were done for Star Wars, I was really bummed that the largest they made were 13s. I really would kill for the Adidas Blizzard Force shoes. I had hope with Vans, as I've got most of my size 15-16's on clearance from their store for most of my life.

If someone were to produce an accurate pair of Nike Mags in a size I can wear, I'd drop the money for it. I know it won't be cheap. Hell, I was even able to get a pair of Kenneth Coles w/ the same exact sole used for the screen used Jango Fett costume, in a size 16

To anyone who owns V2 and RD mags in size US8 US9 or US10.

I'm wondering if I can get a measurement of the 4 "powerlaces" across the tongue. Not the actual width of the lace/elastic itself, but the visible length they run from side to side over the tongue when the shoe is not being worn.

My HC mags, the distance is different on each shoe and I'm trying to figure out what it should really be.

Sorry for the crap phone snap, but it is now 1am here.

I'd like to see the whole sole cast in this stuff :)

Strap logos are curing now.

Is that glow-in-the-dark in the sole cavities?

Preferably a US men's 15 lol

The HC mags come in US14, 12 1/2" from heel to toe. Maybe it would work for you?

There are glow-in-the-dark soles available for knockoffs, as a shop I bought from once keeps emailing me about new stock such as this: http://www.nikeplaza.ru/views.asp?hw_id=285698&sort_id=156&nsort_id=687 - I havent got them yet so I don't know how well glow-in-the-dark soles work, but still, it can be done, so good luck with it :)

Yea I contemplated them but I know I'll ultimately be disappointed in it's inaccuracies

Thanks, I appreciate it. The HC mags I have, the lace widths are sloppy and it's causing fit issues.

Right shoe laces measure just over 1 inch across.
Left shoe, both widths just under 1 inch.

Consequently, the left shoe fits tight because it is just a little too slim. And I checked this over two pairs, both had the tighter laces on the left shoe.

I will have to communicate this to HC and make sure they send me a pair where both shoes have laces over 1 inch in width.

Also, will notify them that they should try and get this in check with the manufacturers since it causes real issues with fit. They could prevent a lot of returns from fitting issues.

They are inaccurate, that's true. But they are also $100. Cheaper than real mags, and cheap enough to wear around without being out a bunch of money if you mess them up.

Get them in your hands, see if they fit, and then decide. I was iffy, but when I got them in my hands I knew I'd be keeping them.

Is adding the word "Air" before Mag wrong? I hear people calling the shoes Air Mag and Nike Air Mag all the time but is it accurate? I think officially they are called Nike Mag correct? Anyone have the answer?

You're correct. They are called "Nike Mag"! There is no Air in the name.
They originally were going to film a scene with Marty playing basketball with the magnetic shoes.

Yes it is. These current outriggers are "hollow" and I have simply filled the cavity with GITD. The new batch (when the new molds are done) will have a thicker wall.

I don't think there is any right or wrong there.

The words NIKE and AIR have gone hand in hand for ever (since 1971?)

The MAG is still a NIKE AIR shoe. The difference is it has "glowing air bags".

The Magnetic Anti-Gravity thing was to do with a futuristic sport where the players could run or walk up the walls and onto the ceiling but was never filmed. Typically when a shoe is an AIR shoe, it sports the word AIR on the sole somewhere. These sport the letters MAG instead. Typically NIKE shoes have their brand visible in at least 3 places - Heel sole and tongue. These only have it in two - heel and strap.

Look at these real MAGs for sale on eBay. It says they only been worn a handful of times but they must've been stored in a window or out in the sun. The soles are yellowed and look at how yellow the stitching is around the tongue. My real MAGs are stored inside its box, out of light, in a closet. Mine are blue and clear.

Looks pretty good. Is that raw powder, or did you paint it in there?

Wish I could get some better soles for the HC's. They are nothing but waffle-grid and look to yellow-up pretty quickly. They're also fairly thin, no protection for the bottom of the spattered-sole at all. Would be nice if they were just a couple tenths of an inch thicker or something, so the spatter-sole doesn't touch flat ground.

Cav, only Nikes with an actual air unit on the midsole carry the Air in the name. Mags don't have an air unit so technically they are not in the "Air" family. Not to mention that the word Air does not appear anywhere on the shoe.

Did you check Amazon or ebay?

Yeah but I can't seem to find a seller with aqua that has the open tabs and aren't pre-pinned/have leads attached already arg! Guess I could bite the bullet and get the 5X6 with pins or test this guys stuff.

You might want to clip that ebay link. Can't link to live auctions.

Also, that doesn't seem to be too bad a price to me.

Maybe you need to check out my clear sole thread interest thread in the JY.

I mixed the GITD powder into some clear elastomer at the maximum 15%/Volume mix ratio, vacuumed all the bubbles out and then injected it into the soles. I had to drill two small holes in each to allow an even flow of the liquid in and air escape out as it filled.

I had thought about just squirting some powder in at first using a syringe, but I really wanted to see how good this stuff glows when mixed in. My shoes have become my "beta testers" of late.

So after everything had set up, I gave them a quick minute charge in the sun this morning and then too these snaps. I will take some proper shots soon.

The strap logos were a bit of a rush job and I will re-work these as they do have potential.
With and without the flash. Given this is bright enough for the standard phone camera settings to pic it up say a lot.

I am pretty happy with the results. They do have a slight more greenish colour (aqua or cyan) to the eye. They are plently bright without the hot spotting of the LEDs I had before.

Only Jedifyfe can confirm if the real NIKE MAG has an air sole or not. I can't see why it would not given it is based on the AIR PRESSURE and it had an air sole. Note the note in the concept art says "glowing air bags".
