I have another set curing now and will probably even be able to de-mold those tonight and get a 4th set mixed and poured after that.

Once I have 5 sets ready to go, I'll upgrade my membership to Premium and start the sale in the JY.

Great work on the sole molds Cavx! I'll keep a lookout for the sale thread - I assume the soles are to fit size 9.5 as you have previously said that's your size?

Are these easy to install Cav? Will you do a video? I'll be after some id imagine. Also Like the above what size....I got size 9 v2s as I'm 9.5 and they size big

Lovin' your work, Cavx...!!! :)

Thanks Azrael :)

Yes I am US9.5 and they do fit this size. They won't fit US8, US8.5 unless you are prepared to mod them which would mean cutting and joining them to make them narrower. .

Fairly easy if you start with the wings. Even though I used superglue, I would suggest Shoe Goo and start at one end and work your way along. You tape them in place whilst the adhesive cures. The superglue I used has stuck really well, however the fumes turned my side sections white. The test pair I did before this pair was made differently and they remained clear. There is an air gap due to the shape of the outrigger sole. Shoe Goo will work better. It is also a flexible adhesive made for shoes. I would suggest loading it into a small syringe rather than squeezing right out of the tube.

probably won't do a video, but will take some high rez stills when I do the MAGs I have to mod for a member here.

Are thease solid or proper rubber soles

They are made from clear elastoma meaning they are a flexible clear rubber and have a shore hardness of 60~65 making them as hard wearing as any shoe sole. The pyramid tread grips really well. You may have to trim some parts but over all, this is an easy to fit mod. The hardest part I found was removing the yellow rubber soles. That part took two hours and I ended up with a massive blister on my thumb from peeling back the hot rubber of the original part.

Will there be a chance you want will make them for a US 10 ??

This is a case of one size fits almost all. Please note that the master came off a US13. Note the master is NOT clear. It is the original yelling sole + the pyramid base, but it is much wider than the standard sole and therefore gives the outrigger look.

I only have US13, US9.5 and US8 MAGs on hand. These soles fit the US13 and US9.5, so should fit US12, US11, US10 and any half sizes in between. They WILL NOT fit the US8 and 8.5 unless you are prepared to mod them. I will make smaller sizes once I re-coupe some of the money spent to make the molds for these.

So these soles are US13 and here they are on my US9.5s.

I am using LED here. I am guessing EL will not light the cross section up like the LEDs do. The EL won't hot spot like the LEDs do.

One point to note. Because the master was created by adding the extra layer layer of pyramid mat to give the part its proper tread, the soles are thicker than the original yellow rubber ones. This means that they do extend out a few mm. But this turns out to be a good thing because it keeps your mid-soles off the ground. The clear parts are wide and feel very stable under foot when you walk. I wore mine in Sydney for 4 days for very long times walking over a variety of surfaces including wet concrete, bitumen, carpet and tiles. They gripped very well in the wet.

Awesome job.
Did you make a one piece mold for each or are you doing each foot in 2 pieces?

Is there a way to make them ice white like the movie?

If we're able to buy the pairs that airair is trying to bring to life with accurate uppers, these clear soles, and cloneprops' ankle buckles, I bet even Tinker Hatfield wouldn't be able to tell the difference lol

You've been added to the list and I will PM soon.

Thank you. There is actually 3 molds. The two rear parts are a 2 part mold each (one for left and one for right. The front oval parts are single mold that make the two but again, is a 2 part mold.

Apparently if I use talcum powder to dust the mold, it clouds the surface. I will give that a go soon. I also am looking at the add in "glow in the dark" powder (I found cyan) as well so you don't even need to the light and power them. Give them a charge by exposure to any bright light and they should be good for a few hours. Go to any night club with UV lighting (IE black lights) will make them glow all night. In fact back in 1989 (and VHS day for video), that is how I initially thought they lit the shoe - UV reactive tape and black light.
Later of course I learned it was powered lights.

Added.

Added.

So do I. I am curious to see how they light up.

Hi
I was wondering if you did a test on the grey soles or heel part with the duplicolor vinyl paint/dye?

Let me know if you do.

Want to know how well it sticks to the rubber.
