I think you are reading into things too much. I believe they have simply done the visible stitching to save on time whilst making them. Everything else seems the same, the fabric, tongue fabric, soles, everything.
If these are the same shoe construction, how does adding more stitching save time or money? I think I will be safe unpicking that when I get a pair of these.
They have just made the triangular cutouts in the collar circular, and distored the white puffy collars shape slightly (they now resemble the mark poon shoe more).
That was a time saver for sure. Looking at the images, there might be enough fabric to snip and tuck to make them triangle. The extra puffy collar is crap though.
The nike mag on the heel is removed, and a visible stitched blank strap is there.
I get removing the NIKE and SWOOSH, but why the M A G. MAG stands for Magnetic Anti Gravity which is fictitious, so why did that need to go?
I'm pretty sure anyone could manufacture a shoe which looks like a nike mag, and pay and get a license to use the back to the future name very easily from Universal studios. This halloween company are just paying for licensing. As long as no nike mag or air mag is used in the description, they are fine to sell.
Good point. Did the 2011 NIKE MAG have a Universal logo on the product/packaging anywhere? The Mattel Hover Board does on both the box and board itself.
