Thanks.

That is not the finished clear sole, rather the originals. Yes it tore whist I was attempting to remove it. All good though because the set I did get off in one piece will fit my shoes with some trimming of the back.

Here is another shot of the extended tongue next to the standard shoe.

Make you wonder about the reasons why NIKE went with the shorter tongue on the RD MAG.
Looks like the best way to secure this in is to sew it to the top part of the existing tongue. The flap that covers the lace part can then be tacked in using some super glue so it doesn't lift.

Here's a picture of my V2 scratch uppers test. Still in rough phase, and needs some tweaks here and there but fits perfectly on my feet and almost dead on to the RD mags. With the white collars added, it will be roughly 2.5cm taller than the v2s, and virtually identical in height to the RD/movie ones. I measured them as accurately as possible and to scale.

I did the 2nd tongue last night. Can't wait till these new soles are done.

I am using them for now. I have some EL NIKE panels made up, just need to source an inverter that will fit.

After I change out my soles, I should be able to use the factory battery compartment to hold the inverter if it won't fit in the ankle buckle. I noticed that I can access the factory battery compartment via the mid-sole after the outer soles are removed.

Thanks for the link. Looks small (and cheap) enough. It does concern me building stuff like this into the soles because of the pressure they might be under from walking or running.

I use this inverter on every pair if have ever made. NEVER had any issues.

Cool thanks for that. Where you guys would have cut open the sole from the top (inside the shoe), I will probably be going in from under the sole once the clear outer-soles are removed. It is pretty thin rubber under there.

Is there already much of a hole there? Hope the available space is in the middle of the shoe, somewhere around the arch point, where there's probably minimal stresses applied.

From what I can see, the battery compartment is just forward of the sole, but not quite under the arch (if that makes any sense).

First test wear of the shoes since adding the new tongues.

These still need some work and there is no foam inside the upper part yet. At least now I don't have to worry about having to pull the tongue up.
