Update:
One shoe's sole is almost ready for molding. Tonight I was able to remove the front portion of the outer sole. I then spot tacked the soles back onto the shoe using hot glue (which is easy to remove later) before reforming the sole to give it the new shape.
Much better from the rear too. I really wanted to correct the huge step out I have on my own pair due to the way I did the insert. Having the sole off the shoe made this much easier. I hope to be able to replicate this on all the sizes I have on hand.
Next step is to workout the new "footprint" and add the pyramid matting to the base. From there I should be right to cast these in a UV stabilized water clear polyurethane.
