New sets of LEDs. Two pairs at a time.

Got in touch with Bright components. Turns out he doesn't do those particular type bulbs anymore. But he went through his old stock and found 26 of them...perfect. Had the lot. Hopefully by Sunday I'll have my first complete shoe. The one after will be done a lot faster!

Go to eBay and find a shop by user Bright Components. You can get the yellow, green and red LEDs all with same voltage drop.

just email them and tell them you want 3mm LEDs all with the same voltage drop. You can just tell them how many you need and can buy them outside of eBay.

Ok. I just checked my old email when I last bought.

I got the 3mm diffused LEDs from bright components.
These LEDs all have a voltage drop of 2v and current of 20mah (directly what I've been told by bright components)

Using the 9v power source, and putting this info into the led series online calculator,

I got these resistors.

56 ohm 1/4 watts resistors

Just get these and you should be ok. I have the exact same ones.

Like I said before, some LEDs from different sellers will have different voltage drops and current mah.

The ones I've mentioned work for me along with those resistors.


Ive also used the same LEDs for a few 3v setups, I've just used different resistors.

What are you guys using to cut the EL? Sometimes the sheet is splitting near the cuts I make which causes the sheet not to light up correctly.

House hold iron, put a cloth between it and the el. Press hard and check every 2 seconds to repair split black areas. Here's a video Repair Black Spots In Your El Flat Panels - YouTube

At least these are decent thickness at almost 5mm thick. The V1 soles would be lucky to be 2.5mm.

Thanks and lets hope the finished version is as neat.
What is interesting about the different sizes (that shoe is US13) is that the cutout part in the middle is the same size as my US9.5s. The sole is longer at the front and the back, but nothing too hard to trim down. So I should be able to make a few different sizes from this one.

If anyone wants a pair of new completed US 9.5's I will be putting one up in the junkyard soon. I'm slowly getting rid of most of these V2's I've modded.
I will be spending more time on making my own scratch made pair ala Cloneprops as the flaws on the V2's are too off putting for me these days!
