I really feel happy when I see these pictures. So many years I dreamt of these shoes, so awesome that you have the rd but way too cool that we can get our hands on em by way of v2 and some mods. Great pictures, thanx for sharing.

They really do look amazing when compared side by side. Only thing that jumps at me is no ridge in the soles. Everything else unless you had them side by side comparing you would never know. In public people think they are real.

The pictures look great Brad, in fact, I think I almost prefer the uppers of the V2 over the RD.

They stick out a bit more and look more like they did in the movie.

Welcome and thank you. I love seeing other people's work on these as well. It helps inspire me to to more accurate modding and try to think outside of the box. Are you working on a pair of these V2's?

My biggest takeaway from the comparison pics, besides how delightfully close our V2s are to the RDs, is that the "water-clear" soles of the RDs make for a sharper outline on the sole EL -- at least on camera. The slightly milky clear soles on the V2s make the EL look just a little fuzzy. Doesn't bother me in person, but you can see it's a little different in the pics.

Hi jedifyfe I will be posting pics of my markpoon converts
I did a wile ago, I followed your tutorials and added my own twist
I have just purchased some V2s witch I will follow your tutorials again
and hopefully end up with something similar to yours, the only thing I don't know
how to do is thin the laces so if you can help me with that I would really appreciate it.
I'm also in the middle of making a hover board and will post pics of that when finished

Personal preference. I start with the toe mod, then EL, then LEDs, then EL strap.

Also still worried about laces and how to thin them out
