Nike MAG replicas (V2 and V3 only)

Its a hard foam, soft enough to leave the imprint of your fingernail...but not much softer then that. Then there is a white mesh type fabric between that and the grey fabric, which is probably there to absorb/spread/reinforce the glue I'd imagine.
I guess that is the same mesh i found in the HCs and on the V2 Toebox.

Sounds like cross stitch fabric, I found it works pretty well as an inner frame for shoes, some shoe comapnies use it, on some shoes its visible in the inside

i might have to get this thing... Because the foam i use in the upper isn't really breathable and the shoes get hot when i wear them in summer and for more thant 4 hours :/
is it easy to find ?

What fabric stores do you have in Canada?

In Australia, we have Spotlight. In the US they Jo-annes.

All these types of places sell interface.

The strap ran at 100% power vs the dim bottom sole. Focused the camera on the sole EL, then turned on the strap and the strap got completely washed out. Not a good comparison, but in person at full power the EL looks very blue not aqua. (Look at the reflection of the strap, you can see how blue it looks)

That's a tail-light. It has a headlight too. :D
Funny what you find when you go looking for insoles. Actually, if that price is real I might seriously consider getting a pair.
Here's what a real one looks like.

LOL I think I'll keep saving for another V3 even if it doesn't auto-lace
The weirdest looking shoes I've got are the Air Carnivore. (photo is not my image)

So the EL panels themselves are good, there's just a voltage restrictor in the circuit is there..?

Well here is a update on my Mags. The front half of my left shoe's EL panel went out. At first it was a very dim blue and then it stopped working at all.I think smacking the shoe and pressing the sole as Martha recommended made the wire break in that portion. So I got a replacement pair coming in for $120 shipped. It should have been free, but it is what it is. At least I can wear my first pair without babying them as much knowing I have a backup pair coming in the mail.

That looks like it is basically just clear vinyl, which I guess would be good if you didn't want the soles to get dirty.

I know but it could help out preventing the soles to not getting yellow too quickly as one of the factor is the contact with grass or water although the uv light is major one. A transparent uv light protector would be perfect probably.

Btw you have probably noticed that during bttf2 Marty's Mags are light up only in few scenes and then the el lights slowly fails probably due to all that running and falling into the water so:

[SPOILER ALERT] the Chinese knockoff are actually the RD .

All it will stop is soiling of the sole base if you happen to walk on surfaces like grass and dirt. UV is part of light and with a wavelength above 480 nano meters, will pass through any clear protection filter.

Have we considered aerosol UV protectants for the soles?

I know Krylon makes a few.

I am working on replacement V3 panels. They should be much stronger than the existing ones, and since they are made slightly differently, there is virtuallly zero chance of one half moon going out.
The key part is the connection from the panel.
On my current ones, the connection is going from the end and folds over behind the panel, whereas these V3 are connected via a thin copper tape which seems to peel off easily.
