Thought I'd let you guys know that I received a Tracking #. Estimated delivery is tomorrow? I don't know about that since they were just shipped yesterday. If they get here before this Saturday, I'll take them to the RPF Party.

Likewise, but I think we're probably in the minority being able to get up close & know every inch of an RD pair. If I didn't own the RD, wasn't a huge fan of the shoes & happened to walk past someone on the street wearing these, I would assume they were real, as at this moment in time, the Mags the majority know to be replicas such as the V2, are horrendous in comparison to the RD. A year down the line when everyone knows the V3 to be the replica, I think they'll be spotted fairly easily as you have said.

The fabric stands out a mile, toe-box & collar for me, not to mention the overall finish, however, I just want something as close to my RD that I can wear every now & again & not feel too bad about destroying an official prop, let alone a very expensive one.

As mentioned in a previous post, there are differences between my pairs, some I deem to be more 'perfect' than others, but nothing on the level of the errors with these. However, we are comparing an official item made by Nike that was sold for thousands of dollars compared to a replica at a fraction of the cost, so I do feel some slack has to be given.

you can easily spot these v3 are fake although most won't be bothered with it, but it bothers me lol!
just look a the White ankle piece holding the strap
look at the side profile, its a bit weak to be honest. Looks better from the back, but the side profile view gives it away very easily.
it has no bulge like the original. Simple as that. I'm surprised as i'd assume it was 3d scanned and copied like the Soles were.
No need to even check anything else, even though the fabric and toebox and strap are other key giveaways.

Just out of curiosity when did you order and what size did you order the Mags in ?

Even with the best help modding a pair, its $300-$400+ in shoes/materials and a ton of patience and work for the build. People were paying over 1k for a pair of modded V2's that look absolutely nothing like RD Mags. I can't understand why the tiniest flaws are holding people back.

I am not knocking anyone's work. I have a massive amount of respect for the folks here who have helped guide the modding process and have taken it where it is now. But we can't deny that as far as it has come, it is still nowhere near RD or V3 quality.

I just think nitpicking the V3 doesn't make any sense.

I can understand that some flaws could be perceived as a deal breaker by some members. Although there's indeed no denying that these replicas are the closest we've seen to the RD Mags. We've seen some incredible accurizing work done either on the V2s or the earlier Markpoon Mags and even though those are often a work of art on their own, they don't and can't come close to the level of accuracy of the new V3s.

Simply put, for a fraction of the price of modded V2s or Markpoons we now have a way more accurate option on the market. Are the V3s a 100% perfect replica ? Definitely not, even to my relatively untrained eye. Are there gonna be factory defects ? Probably like with every mass produced item, including the RDs. But are there other options out there other than dropping 5K on a pair of RD ? Well I unfortunately don't think so.

I think it's great that RD owners could be able to spot those replicas a mile away and I really wouldn't want a replica flooding the market and diminishing the value of their investment, but for us plebe, who probably never even got the chance to hold a pair of RD Mags, I think it's really hard to start nitpicking as SpecillK puts it.

for me the biggest problem is not the flaws on the shoe (it is way much better than any modified V2), but the process to get them is not safe and we don't know anything about the sellers.

Do they come charged? Also, do e red LED's flash when they are charging?

yeah mine came charged. think it was almost full charged cause the leds were super bright out of the box in daylight. sadly no theres no indicator when charging, the red leds dont come on. if anyone still hesitating on purchasing them and want to check them out before buying. you are welcome to check out mine, im in LA if you are close by.
