NIKE MAG Knockoffs

I posted one a few pages back. It is a slightly lower profile MAG with [Mc]fly-wire. The problem with those shoes is that they are essentially a plastic bag for your foot. I've never worn a pair longer than to try them on and would think they would be hot.
 
hey, while we are waiting for some pics of the replicas.

What do you reckon would be a stronger or better glue out of these?

Shoe Goo or Loctite Flexible super glue?

I just bought some shoe goo for when i have to glue some new uppers on.

On your modifed Knockoffs Cavx, is the shoe goo really strong?

Also, i was reading the back of the packet, and it says you shouldn't breathe this shoe goo stuff! do you have to wear a mask or something when using this glue?
 
a question for any of the guys with the real pair of mags.

Whats the thickness of the uppers approximately? and the ankle section of the uppers, what sort of thickness is that?

just trying to work out how much foam to put in before glueing the grey fabric over the top.

if anyone can share some new high quality pictures of their real nike mags, that would be fantastic.

especially from the inside of the mags and the ankle area section.

ps, you guys, keep looking like a hawk on these websites! one of them is surely bound to pop up with some pics of the knockoffs.

i also asked a few more websites, and they say they won't be sold for more than $99. Any sites asking for more are just trying to reel you to make an extra buck.

id try looking at contact adhesives , my mate is a shoe maker and gave me some heat activated neoprene contact adhesive , its pretty strong stuff and meant for shoes

Pretty soon there will not be a site offering them for $99. After the site I originally purchased from jacked them up to $225, I ordered another pair from a different site that still had them at the original price. They too have now upped the price to $225. I think it's just a demand thing plain and simple. Yes, they are trying to make an extra buck, but that's business. If the demand is there, and the market will support the inflated price, it's sure to go up.

I don't know if I'd go that far. Markpoons cost $190 to begin with, plus the cost of electronics, time. And if these knockoffs turn out to be decent, your final result may not compare. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather pay $100, so I'm glad I got in when I did, but I'd gladly pay $225 for a decent knockoff.

I used both Shoe Goo and a contact adhesive. I did have one failure where the contact adhesive let go and I'd run out of Shoe Goo at that stage. When you glue with Shoe Goo, you have to do the gluing in stages.

Yes it smells a bit, but no, you don't need a mask.

Is this the Bruce Lee/Bumble Bee edition? That is actually pretty cool.
 
Interesting as the first image is the MP MAG which does not have any lights out of the box. The other images do appear to be the real MAG.
 
at the beginning of his article, he says
"I actually had the Nike Mag replica made by some guy in Taiwan" and shows the pic of the MP's. Style: 8.5/10?? I'd give them a 88/10!

I ordered the first day, around midnight. This email was sent to six other people. I am assuming we were the first seven to order because I didn't think twice after a representative from this site told me about a new release they were having. I was chatting with "Vicky" about the replica Nike Air Yeezy 2 in the "proto-type" colourway and how happy I was on the quality. Then she told me about the Nike Air Mags and how they will be releasing them at the end of the month. I asked her questions about how will they look and she respoded by saying that they will look exaclty like the eBay auction released shoes. She did not know the price at the time, but later, when I went on the site to order, I was surprised it was only $99 + shipping. For that price, I didn't hesitate. Now, I'm like everyone else... playing the waiting game. But I feel confident that the shoes will be very close to the "authentic."
