It was stated a few pages back that they are NOT coming out.Anybody hear of the "V2" mags coming out since its passed the end of August? LoL Guess that was a short lived dream for most of us :/
One pair for show and one pair to wear.
I just got another Markpoon pair off Youtube for $40!!! I think one more conversion will be done. :love !
Want to sell one pair after another conversion? LoL :thumbsup
Yeah I was absolutely going to ditch them last night :lol
As mentioned, once you find a supplier (I used ERA products) you will be able to inspect samples of the cured product and feel the hardness. I chose OC80A based on the feel of the sample for the outer-sole. For a mid sole, I would suggest OC25A.
I am working on a 3D model for the mid-soles. Just $$$ that I don't want to spend if I don't have to.
The easiest way to make these is:
1. Have a template cut from at least 3 layers 16mm MDF. If you wanted the recessed parts for the outer-sole, then you laser cut a 2nd profile using 3mm MDF and glue that in place to create a new 3D shape. At this stage, you would also be able to add the recesses for the side parts.
2. Invert the mid-sole and then raise it up by at least 40mm and Vac Form the shape. This works because the widest part is the top (which is inverted).
3. You then trim the top side into shape.
4. Lay the original MDF part into the base and using bondo, create the arch and build up the wall.
Presto! You now have a solid flat mid-sole that you can cast.
good idea
how do you think they made the original back in 1989?
im guessing they did it by hand or something.
im sure you can make in foam then glue the bits on for sides and getting the general shape, or just do it in mdf like you said.
judging from the original screen used pics, it seems they used some sot of hard foam for the actual mid soles on one of the props, and the ankle buckle strap holder.
Because you can see the pain chipping off it and its all yellow underneath? or is that aged rubber?
since they had multiple versions, im guessing they used different ones depending on the scenes.
i actually prefer the dirty, grimy look of the movie shoes compared to the "too perfect" 2011 release.
the movie version just has the specific look to it that gives it that special uniqueness.
whats the best way to do the laces?
is it best to do just full elastic all the way from each side to the other?
or do some foam cutouts for the bit under the fabric, then just some elastic to each side, kind of like the 2011 shoe?
i want to make sure shoe isn't too tight but then not too loose either.
maybe i should add shoe laces lol!
is it not possible to put some waterproof spray onto some fabric?
i wonder what the 2011 release is using for the grey fabric? do you think thats waterproof or simply plain cloth as well?
You could use that spray that is used in new cars. I think it is called "scotchguard".
I bet the real shoes get dirty really easy and I bet not so easy to clean.
obviously, it would be important to avoid wet mud and stuff!
Possibly...Don't expect them to be cheap.
As you would with any shoe.
Yeah.
but i plan to make several shoes, so if one gets ripped or dirty, can just move onto the next one.
