thanks, it looks awesome. Why pay $1000+ for a clonemag replica which may not even fit when you get a kmag and make your own like Caloss!

These look almost identical to the movie versions, fantastic, way better than mpoons.

so how much of the foam did you have to cut out to fit the inverter?

and did you use 2 layers of foam sheets glued together, so 4mm total to give it strength?
do you have any close up pics of the joins?

Sorry to sound stupid, but a question for you guys doing your self builds with foam sheets.

If you are cutting out several shapes which when joined together give the shape of the shoe, are you guys glueing these foam sheets at the edges where they meet or stitching them to each other?

For example, say i split the shape of the shoe to 3 pieces of foam sheets. 2 pieces for the back, and 1 for the front toe bit. Its just a matter of glueing these together? and which glue is best for eva foam.

Also, would it be any different if plastazote foam sheet is used instead of EVA?

I think you will find you should be able to heat form the toe box. To glue it, you can used hot glue or super glue.

thanks,
how many foam pieces did you split your uppers into?

two for back and one for toe area?

fantastic job, without doubt the best replica out there. I think its incredible Caloss.

yeah i can see from the older pics you have an outer shell made from the 3 foam pieces
for the inner liner, did you add any foam behind that? or was just that thin fabric?

how have you stitched the main upper white puffed leather piece to the grey outer bit?
this is the bit i have no clue on. i think my mind is melting!

is it just stiched from behind the white piece?

The lights in the soles are too big? Are you going to fix that so that less light shows through?

Amazing work Caloss! You've gone all out with the whole product line including Tees :)

You now have your own folder and I look forward to seeing the "how to" pics.

I am working on a Vac Form right now which will allow parts like the Ankle Buckle and Heel Cup to be made in duplicate form. As for your Heel Cup, what exactly do you need help with here? And how can I help? Like you, everything I am doing is trial and error and sometimes these things take time.

http://i1095.photobucket.com/albums/i475/st200rich/nike air mag/IMAG0640.jpg needs to be alittle bit bigger to fit better the k mag heel cup is to small looking for the shoe this is a markpoon heel cup/ i need a k mag custom version

This looks like the MP MAG Heel Cup, not the K-MAG Heel Cup. I went through all of your photos on a link I found a few pages back and I think I did see this cup on your shoe. If it is, then yes I agree, too small.

I am re-working my 3rd ankle buckle [pictures coming soon as I think I had a break through on this] and have made a start on the Heel Cup. The Heel Cup is proving difficult because of its size and shape. To Vac Form this, I will need to build the Heel Cup vertically orientated [90 degrees to how it sits on the shoe]. This way you get that 'flap' part that you use to reinforce the shoe for a build like yours, or cut it off if doing a 'make over' like mine.

I will also need vectors for the wording NIKE and MAG so that I can have the letters laser cut from rubber which are then hot glued to the surface before the pull. This way the wording is permanent and raised. Should look very cool.

Clearly there is expense here, so any assistance would be appreciated.

hi
can someone tell me the measurements for the mark poon ankle buckle?

height, width.

The Ankle Buckle appears to be the same size on both shoes.

The Heel Cup is different though.

The PM MAG is 6.5" x 2.75"
The K-MAG is 7.75" x 2.75".

Here is my latest version of the Ankle Buckle. I've reworked the 3rd version based on this image.

Looking at the images again, I think I need to extend the cutout in slightly, then add the part at the end that strap actually goes around. Because I am Vac Forming this part, I can add this part in later.

It is still not perfect, but it is getting there. Please let me know what you think.

exceptional!

looking brilliant!

i think vacuum forming is a great way as you can keep the inside hollow for fitting an inverter or battery or whatever.

im still struggling with my clay one.

how big is that pvc pipe piece which your ankle buckle is being made onto?

I think i need something similar to help me get the curves right.

GREAT..JOB that looks good

GREAT..JOB that looks good
Thanks Airair :) Your Ankle Buckle is looking really good too.

Mine is looking even better since I added the small parts to finish the ends. If anything, I probably need to reduce the dome a little, but not sure I want to just yet.

I forgot I even had this shot of the real shoe

Before I added the parts in this morning [waiting the for the glue to set before I sand], I was wondering if I even should because it seems in this image that part does not have a raise end to the slot pin thing, though now I have fitted it, I think it looks better. The dome part also seems to meet the ridges with a bit more of a smoother curve where mine is still quite angular, so I guess I will be sanding mine back more yet.

The original idea of having a larger cavity inside to hold a power supply is still valid I think.
