I am so glad I got my refund before all this hell broke loose.
I feel really bad for you guys who got stuck when the sites asked for more money. I honestly couldn't remember which site I bought from even after finding the PayPal details.
Fortunately I had it bookmarked at home and it was shoebagsonsale. Fingers crossed they don't do the same as the other sites. Hope you guys who got stuck canceling still get some of the MAGS. I hope we all do.
With the soaring costs of these perhaps we will see the factory doing another batch in the near future. But it's unlikely they'll improve anything if they know what they have already is gonna sell, if they can figure out what the price is first.

Just picked up my uppers, they are not sewn together or on a sole but its great to see the shape is more accurate this time (although I will sharpen up a few places) its hard to see what they will end up looking like but hopefully you guys think I haven't spoiled the mag image, more pics in my thread.

Also, why is every single one of these videos so far, filmed in a terrible dim room with only fluorescent lighting? This one was really shaky, too.
I'm really looking forward to pics and video with non-bunker lighting from you guys here when you get them in hand.
EDIT: That "on feet" video from post #4295 is much better.

been watin for an onfeet vid. these look even better now, cept for the tounge still being too low cut. with the lights on ya they definately look fake, but imo they look alot better with em off, which is how they were half the time in the movie anyhow.
im normally a fan of high cut shoes, but in this instance im fine with them being slightly shorter. in the time I wore the RD's around the house the inflexible, stiff uppers really make the back of your legs sore. im suprised were getting a halfway decent box with these at all tho, I figured theyd come in a beat up, cardboard box with chinese writing all over it, lols
the mods I will do to em will be to make them more wearable and comfy tho, like adding some insoles, padding and possibly (non power) laces, in addition to fixing the tounge and whatever splatter job I end up with. Id love to get a strap and buckle from cloneprops to put on em later tho, your stuff looks even better than the job nike did on the RD ones sir!

Wow, I wake up to 4 new pages on this thread, and all bad news. I thought pickgoodshoes was one of the trusted sites? Checked my order with shoesbagonsale and its still there status as paid, awaiting shipment, and all the details are still there. I hope these guys come through, but they haven't responded to my last three status requests which makes me a but uneasy
Just as a fun little exercise while we wait, I put this together for us nerds, using one of the images graciously provided to us by DinoIgnacio.
It's a scaled comparison between the sole of the RDs and the sole of the V1 K-Mag.
Of note: The K-Mag sole is longer...even though it is a size SMALLER than the RD. (K-Mag Size: 8; RD Size: 9) So it would appear my hypothesis about length was incorrect, it seems to be sole WIDTH which is the most important dimension to achieve the overall look. I would have never guessed that, and it's why I owe Dino a drink! :lol
I'll post any other findings I might make.

Woah, **** has hit the fan. After looking at the demo vids and pics they're looking amazing and I really want to order a pair. However, things seem to have taken a turn for the worse with the sites now asking for more money. I think i'll wait until all this bad noise has died down and the price is a fixed one (hopefully around the $200 mark)

Very slow, careful work with a blow dryer and a sharp blade, mostly used to separate the edges. I would focus the blow dryer (on high) on a 1 inch by 2 inch area at a time, and only move on once I pulled it back and had it released.
I have a video somewhere of part of the process...If I didn't absent-mindely delete it, I'll post it.
I have to say, finally having access to this level of comparison, it makes me want to cast these soles in plaster and resculpt them to make accurate masters for future projects.

my friend and I were discussing getting together and buying a real MAG, and I was thinking of just getting these, but with all the recent commotion regarding the knockoff. Should i take him up in his offer or just wait until 2015 and get the ones that will probably come out then. Ohh man NIKE MAG dilemmas got me scratching my head. LOL first world problems. But seriously what do I do?
